Visit Unic Cafe, Sunyi Cafe for People with Disabilities

Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you are alright. Not long ago, I visited a very unique cafe in Jakarta. This cafe is called, Sunyi Kafe which was initiated by people with disabilities, especially those who cannot hear.

In 2022, I visited a similar cafe in South Tangerang. The place is very comfortable and I also had a short interview for job requirements. This cafe is also interesting. I am here, I am proud of my friends with disabilities who are empowered. They work very well.

Not only the workers at this cafe, but the visitors who come also come from people with disabilities. It seems that this cafe has become a safe space for friends with disabilities. Telak Cafe is located near Ayodia Park, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. Not far from Blok M., I didn't expect this place to be very busy.

The unique thing about this cafe is that I need to use sign language to order food and interact with them. To be honest, I'm still stiff with the sign language used. I also need to use my cell phone as a means of communication with them when I fail to use sign language.

The interesting thing about this place is that the baristas and waiters are very friendly. In terms of service and place, I am satisfied with this place. I almost forgot I visited the place not alone. I visited with my friend. On purpose, I came with friends. If I were alone, I would work.

I ordered a coffee and a heavy meal (rice and stir-fried chicken). The coffee I ordered was milk coffee. The taste of silent milk coffee is very creamy and seems to be topped with coconut milk instead of creamer. It feels very suitable and I like it.

For food, I ordered rice and stir-fried chicken. The taste is dominantly sweet for chicken seasoning. If added with rice and sauce, it becomes a delicious combination. There isn't much of a menu on site. For coffee, there is a pandan latte, strawberry milk coffee, and a V60 manual. For non-coffees, there are plenty. There is lemon tea and Thai milk tea.

What I like about this place is that the place feels very homey. Where I feel at home staying here for a long time. There is an inside area that is suitable for those of you who don't like cigarette smoke. In the outside area, each spot has an area for charging cellphones or laptops. Oh yes, there is also a wall of hope, I don't write hope. but, I read it, it's very interesting.

The baristas here can also teach you sign language. This place provides a sign language academy. Fun and interesting. This is a cafe I can't forget. I forgot to tell you the negative side of this place. The downside to this place is that the prices of food and drinks are quite expensive. Maybe, there is a difference of up to 20 percent compared to nearby places.

Even so, I think everything is just right. The fairly expensive price of food must be paid for a comfortable place, friendly service, and empowerment for working people with disabilities. Yes, that's just my story. See you in the next story. Thank You
