Flo Rida is an American rapper and Tramar Dillard was born in Miami on December 16, 1979 (he is 44 years old). With seven sisters at home, he had to be smart to stand out. Some of them sang the gospel in groups in their villages and soon the music became contagious.
As a teenager, he joined a local rap group called GroundHoggz, which had some music fans. With them he began to record house albums as a quartet, giving small shows in less prestigious places.
During one of those shows, he caught the attention of Fresh Kid Ice, lead singer of 2 Live Crew and America's first Asian rapper. Fresh Kid Ice asked him to join the band for a show they were planning in Hawaii.
Due to the strong friendship of the two rappers, Flo Ryder participated in the recording of 2 Live Crew's fourth album, Freaky Chinese (2004). The knowledge acquired during this time helped him enter and make connections in the world of professional music. Then Flo Rida caught the attention of DeVante Swing, rap singer-producer and member of the R&B quartet Jodeci, who helped her find a label that would embrace her work.
After being rejected by several record companies, he decided to leave the music business, graduate, and pursue a career outside the music industry. In 1998, he graduated from high school and began studying international business at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He only stayed there a few months, as shortly after joining he received a call from independent record label Poe Boy/Atlantic with an invitation to return to Florida to continue his music career. In 2000, he joined and performed with the rap group The Eastside Boyz, and in 2004 he began working with other artists in the hip hop industry.
In 2007, Flo Rida released her first single, "Birthday", featuring American rapper Rick Ross. That same year, he contributed to DJ Khaled's song "Bitch I'm from Dade County" on his second solo album, We the Best, which featured Trick Daddy, Trina, Rick Ross and Brisco. He appeared C.-Reed and Dre.
