Hello #HIVE friends and especially to all Alien Art Hive members who share their creative works and posts in the community. Communities are definitely the backbone of Hive, creating relationships of interest and support. Being part of an engaged community is extremely important for the future of Hive and our personal journey.
For these reasons, I have decided to regularly create different fanart of the communities I belong to and publish in. This will be the first of many and I have decided to start with Alien Art, where I have shared illustrations before. I will try to humanize (or " alienize") them by creating illustrations or other formats related to the community.
For Alien Art, I decided to create a chibi and, of course, what better idea than an alien. But not just any alien, one that likes to draw and create, always accompanied by his pencil. I decided on this style because I like kawaii things and it's a drawing style that I want to explore and perfect more.
To begin, I started as usual with a pencil sketch, without many details, starting with circular and rounded shapes, the deep black eyes of a being from another galaxy, antennae, small pointed ears and, finally and strangely, what I found most difficult was his pencil.
I wasn't looking for a perfect drawing, but I wanted to have all the elements of the composition so that, when it came time to do it digitally, it would be more fluid and simple. From the first moment, I decided, to make my work easier, to use symmetries for the alien, dividing the body in two equal parts.
I would like to leave you with a video of the rough sketching process.
After finishing the sketch, I use editing programs to look for symmetry and correct small errors and some details.
With the details corrected, I am ready to take it to digital. One of the processes I enjoy the most is the choice of the color palette. I decided for pastel colors, approaching neon and the use of gradients for the lights and shadows. I leave you with the process.

Ser parte de una comunidad comprometida es extremadamente importante para el futuro de Hive y nuestro recorrido personal.
Por estas razones, he decidido con regularidad crear distintos fanart de las comunidades a las que pertenezco y en las que publico. Este será el primero de muchos y he decidido comenzar por Alien Art, donde ya he compartido ilustraciones anteriormente. Trataré de humanizarlas (o “alienizarlas”) creando ilustraciones u otros formatos relacionados con la comunidad.
Para Alien Art, decidí crear un chibi y, por supuesto, qué mejor idea que un alien. Pero no cualquier alien, uno que le guste dibujar y crear, siempre acompañado de su lápiz. Me decidí por este estilo porque me gustan las cosas kawaii y es un estilo de dibujo que quiero explorar y perfeccionar más.
Para comenzar, inicié como siempre con un boceto a lápiz, sin muchos detalles, partiendo de formas circulares y redondeadas, los ojos negros y profundos de un ser de otra galaxia, antenas, pequeñas orejas puntiagudas y, por último y extrañamente, lo que más me costó fue su lápiz. No buscaba tener un dibujo perfecto, pero sí todos los elementos de la composición para que, a la hora de realizarlo en digital, fuese más fluido y sencillo. Desde el primer momento, decidí, para facilitarme el trabajo, usar simetrías para el alien, dividiendo el cuerpo en dos partes iguales.

Después de terminar el boceto, utilizo programas de edición para buscar la simetría y corregir pequeños errores y algunos detalles.
Con los detalles corregidos, ya me dispongo a llevarlo a digital. Uno de los procesos que más disfruto es la elección de la paleta de colores. Me decidí por colores pasteles, acercándome a los neón y el uso de degradados para las luces y sombras. Les dejo con el proceso.
Así quedó el resultado final y algunas variantes. Siéntete libre de utilizar las imágenes que he creado como consideres apropiado, aunque agradecería que se me atribuyera el crédito cuando sea posible.
