I have a grasshopper with a very strange head today, and then two different spiders that I have to share with you all today. I found them around my neighborhood when I did a little photo walk around the house when I had time.
I found the grasshopper in the neglected piece of land near my house when I did the photowalk, I hardly checked the place, since I thought that there was nothing to be found there in the small area. But I guess I have to change my idea again, because it seems that the small area can host lots of animal that we failed to notice.
The grasshopper may be Atractomorpha_crenulata or tobacco grasshopper. And when I found it, it kept on its feeding routine, munching on the leaf of the bushes it stayed on. even when I moved a little bit to get a better angle it just kept on munching the leaf with zero care of my presence.
The color also blended really nicely with the bush, making it difficult for predators to notice. look at the beautiful eyes and also the peculiar triangular shaped head of this grasshopper.
Then I had this spider at my house, when I was checking on the plant, I found it patrolling in the hanging planter box which I use to plant my seedlings. I am so happy to find them around my house since they are a great insect controller, they will catch flies, mosquitoes, aphids, or other pests that maybe want to attack me or the plant.
I also spotted another spider on the wall, next to the hanging planter box. The size is pretty small, and I guess this one is a different species than the previous one since the color pattern is different. But it blends so nicely with the color of the wall. so you have to really carefully scan for them to find them.
