Sometimes something stays before our eyes and still, we don't notice. It's like putting your sunglasses on your head and searching everywhere. Situations like this make me so frustrated that I feel like tearing my hair.
For the last few weeks, I have been searching for a particular book. I have one but I do need another copy and It's unavailable everywhere, the publication has stopped printing anymore. I had visited the old library so many times that the travel cost was more than the actual price of the book yet no luck.
So I had been clicking pictures from that hardcopy that I had, you know it's quite troublesome from the picture you click. But I would have preferred a pdf if I got one. You may think like scanners and stuff like that, I did too.
Today, out of curiosity, I was exploring the cover and back page of the book and found out that the QR code was there. Usually, such QR codes take in information about the product or the mother company. I came across this one in the past as well and paid no attention. Today I noticed my QR and barcode scanner app in my phone and was trying to scan something. And at that particular moment, my eyes got stuck on the QR code on the book. I just scanned it and it took me to the downloading page of the book, when it was downloaded it was the pdf version of the whole book. I was like,” What!! How is this even possible? “
Actually, the publishers thought of giving away the PDF version free of cost to anyone who needs it just via scanning the given QR code. Anyone can copy or scan to share the contents, right? So why not do it by themself and get some noble credit? That's what the publisher did and I highly appreciate this initiative. Like I do need that book so desperately, found nowhere, and through an 8MB size of a pdf I got the whole book. And the PDF version is more convenient for me. I can easily read and take notes from the pdf.
The surprising part is my eyes did notice this QR so many times but never bothered to scan it. Today, in just a few seconds, I scanned and got the PDF that contains the book. So if you are looking for something then do it in every possible way, leave no stone unturned, and check for the most impossible ways as well.
