En estas últimas semanas he estado un poco ausente, ya que estuve ayudando a mi amiga Nicole con los preparativos de su boda.
¿Wedding Planner?
Creo que más que una panificadora de la boda, fui la amiga presta a ayudar, ya que principalmente debo decir, que todo lo que hice fue de corazón, es decir, sin cobrar un medio. ¿La razón? Cuando llegamos a Ecuador, Nicole fue una de las primeras personas en estar allí y mostrarnos todo su amor, siempre ha estado al pendiente de mis hijos, les lleva regalos y además estuvo conmigo cuando en tiempos de COVID tuve principios de aborto, ella es enfermera, así que me ponía suero y estuvo cuando nació mi hijo, conmigo en el hospital.
Ella es una chica que le ha tocado vivir cosas fuertes, su mamá sufrió un ACV hace años y desde allí, a pesar de tener en aquel momento a su papá y a sus hermanos, le tocó salir adelante con su madre, solas. Así que por todas estas razones, decidí ayudarla con los preparativos de la boda y quitarle un poco de todo el estrés que se les genera a las novias en estos días.
En mi caso, me tocó organizar la parte de la ceremonia y decoración del evento. La comida estuvo a cargo de la Tía del Novio (historia larga). Así que por mi parte hice lo mejor posible para que todo saliera tal cual lo querían los novios. Mi mayor preocupación era el lugar donde se haría la boda, ya que era un patio de una casa y estamos en época de invierno, así que sabía que la lluvia no iba a faltar ese día tan especial.
Días antes de la boda fuimos preparando todo, como si ese día iba a llover, ya que no podíamos confiarnos y hacer todo pensando que no pasaría y luego si pasaba, no tendríamos idea de qué hacer. Además de esto, otra de mis preocupaciones era si realmente en ese patio, ya con carpas y todo, podían entrar 140 personas, pero para mí sorpresa, los expertos del festejo me decían que claro que entrarían y hasta muchas más.
Recibir las sillas, mesas, decoración, ir por la otra parte del festejo, recibir las carpas, firmar facturas y garantías. Ir e indicar dónde y cómo colocar las cosas, era solo parte de lo que hacía durante estos días. Además de estar a cargo de contratar a las personas que iban a limpiar y escuchar las miles de ideas que daban personas que sentadas y sin mover un solo dedo daban, mientras criticaban las ideas de los novios 🫢🙄.
Luego les contaré cómo fue todo en ese día tan especial y además si las expectativas superaron la realidad.

I've been a bit absent these last few weeks, as I've been helping my friend Nicole with her wedding preparations.
Wedding Planner?
I think that more than a wedding planner, I was the friend who was willing to help, because mainly I must say, that everything I did was from my heart, that is to say, without charging a half. The reason? When we arrived in Ecuador, Nicole was one of the first people to be there and show us all her love, she has always been attentive to my children, she brings them gifts and she was also with me when I had the beginnings of an abortion in COVID, she is a nurse, so she gave me serum and she was with me in the hospital when my son was born.
Her mother suffered a stroke years ago and since then, despite having her father and siblings at the time, she has had to get by with her mother, alone. So for all these reasons, I decided to help her with the wedding preparations and take away some of the stress that brides have to deal with these days.
In my case, I had to organise the ceremony and decoration part of the event. The food was in charge of the Aunt of the Groom (long story). So I did my best to make sure that everything went as the bride and groom wanted it to. My biggest concern was the place where the wedding would take place, as it was a courtyard of a house and we are in winter time, so I knew that the rain was not going to miss that special day.
Days before the wedding we were preparing everything, as if it was going to rain that day, as we could not trust and do everything thinking that it would not happen and then if it did, we would have no idea what to do. Besides this, another of my worries was if 140 people could really fit in that patio, with tents and all, but to my surprise, the experts of the celebration told me that of course they would fit and even many more.
Receiving the chairs, tables, decoration, going for the other part of the celebration, receiving the marquees, signing invoices and guarantees. Going and indicating where and how to place things was only part of what I did during these days. As well as being in charge of hiring the people who were going to clean up and listening to the thousands of ideas given by people who sat and without lifting a finger, while criticising the ideas of the bride and groom 🙄.
I will tell you later how everything went on that special day and also if the expectations exceeded the reality.
