Yesterday we celebrated as a family the birthday of an old friend, whom I have greatly appreciated for so many years. Here I tell you everything about how beautiful the celebration was.

El día de ayer celebramos en familia, el cumpleaños de un viejo amigo, al que aprecio mucho desde hace ya tantísimos años. Aquí les cuento todo lo bella que estuvo la celebración.
Con mi mejor amiga Belén, ya llevamos más de quince años de amistad. Nos conocemos desde que ambos íbamos al colegio primario y desde entonces su familia me ha acogido como a un miembro más de la misma.
Por cosas del destino (me gusta creer) hoy en día, con mi mejor amiga convivimos en un departamente que fue construido arriba de la casa de su familia, por lo que ahora paso aún más tiempo con todos ellos y eso hace que la confianza y la calidez, crezcan aún más día a día.
Yesterday was the birthday of his brother Julián, whom I appreciate very much and with whom I also have a very deep friendship.
He is funny, sensitive and generous (although on the surface he usually seems serious and rude). He loves to talk about any topic, but I think the one that unites us the most is cinema.
We love to go whenever we can to see a movie that is being released in theaters, or we simply make something delicious to eat and lie down on the couch to watch movies or series from some digital platform, and then discuss them. Our favorite genre, without a doubt, is science fiction.
Ayer fue el cumpleaños de su hermano Julián, a quien aprecio mucho y con quién también tengo una amistad muy profunda.El es divertido, sensible y generoso (aunque de apariencia suele parecer serio y rudo). Le encanta conversar sobre cualquier tema, pero creo que el que más nos une es el cine.
Nos encanta ir cada vez que podemos a ver alguna película que está estrenandose en las salas de cines, o simplemente hacemos algo rico para comer y nos tiramos en el sillón a mirar películas o series desde alguna plataforma digital, para luego debatir sobre ellas. Nuestro género preferido, sin dudas, es el de ciencia ficción.
Generally, for their birthdays, it is tradition to celebrate at night. I am in charge of cooking the pizzas or making the cake, but this year we celebrate it differently.
Yesterday the day dawned warm and sunny, so he decided to celebrate with a family lunch.
So, from early on, the father was in charge of cooking the roast meat on the grill we have in the patio, the mother was in charge of the salads and dressings, the other brothers brought the drinks and I made the cake.
Por lo general, para sus cumpleaños, es tradición festejarlo por la noche. Yo me encargo de cocinar las pizzas o hacer el pastel, pero este año lo celebramos diferente.Ayer el día amaneció cálido y soleado, por lo que decidió celebrarlo con un almuerzo familiar.
Entonces, desde temprano, el papá se encargó de cocinar la carne asada en la parrilla que tenemos en el patio, la madre se encargó de las ensaladas y aderezos, los otros hermanos trajeron las bebidas y yo hice la torta.
When the roast beef was ready, we all sat down at the table to have lunch. The older sister just arrived with her husband and children to share the afternoon and everyone really enjoyed the meat, which they said was delicious.
I'm a vegetarian, so usually, for celebrations, I have to bring my own food, which doesn't bother me at all, since I love to cook. On this occasion, what I cooked for myself was some wraps filled with soy, caramelized onions and a lot of cheese. It was so delicious, that they also wanted to try it 😅.
Cuando la carne asada ya estaba lista, nos sentamos todos a la mesa para almorzar. Justo llegó la hermana mayor con su marido y sus hijos a compartir la tarde y todos disfrutaron mucho la carne, que según dijeron, estaba deliciosa.Yo soy vegetariano, asique por lo general, para las celebraciones, tengo que llevarme mi propia comida, lo cual no me molesta para nada, ya que me encanta cocinar. En esta ocasión, lo que cocine para mi, fue unos wraps rellenos con soja, cebollas caramelizadas y mucho queso. Estaba tan rico, que ellos también los quisieron probar 😅.
When we finished lunch, we all sat at the table to talk while we digested. We laughed so much that our bellies already hurt, because of the anecdotes they told. (The same anecdotes they usually tell at every family gathering, but they are so funny I could listen to them hundreds more times.)
After a while, my best friend finally arrived, so we let her eat her portion that we saved for her, and when she finished, we brought the cake, we stood up and sang "happy birthday" to Julián.
Cuando terminamos de almorzar, nos quedamos todos sentadas en la mesa para conversar mientras hacíamos la digestión. Nos reímos tanto que ya nos dolía la panza, por las anécdotas que ellos contaban. (Las mismas anécdotas que suelen contar en cada reunión familiar, pero son tan graciosas que podría escucharlas cientos de veces más).Al cabo de un rato, al fin llegó mi mejor amiga, asique la dejamos comer su porción que le guardamos, y cuando terminó, trajimos la torta, nos pusimos de pie y le cantamos el "feliz cumpleaños" a Julián.
The cake was delicious! I made the chocolate flavored cake and filled it with dulce de leche and sliced bananas. I covered it with chocolate and decorated with meringues.
Finally, we cleaned everything and went to my house to watch movies while drinking coffee, which we accompanied with marble puddings that my friend brought when she came home from work.
It was a very beautiful day and the presence of the sun, after so many cloudy and cold days, undoubtedly gave it the touch.
La torta estaba deliciosa! Hice el bizcocho de sabor a chocolate y la rellené con dulce de leche y rodajas de bananas. La cubrí con chocolate y decoré con merengues.Para finalizar, limpiamos todo y nos fuimos a mi casa a mirar películas mientras tomamos café, que acompañamos con budines marmolados que trajo mi amiga cuando volvía del trabajo.
Fue un día muy bello y la presencia del sol, luego de tantos días nublados y fríos, le dió el toque sin dudas.
