Second day of January. I thought I'd do something different. I trekked to the neighborhood mall. Initially I wanted to see a dentist. Unfortunately, the clinic was fully booked. π Thankfully I went with a list. I also usually plan my route ahead of time.
Now I know why the atrium design looked chaotic. There's supposed to be a dragon with a very long tail. It looks like it's made of some basket net. π
At least the Christmas tree looks nicer up close. π I made this stop to take the photos. It's a good idea to go to the mall after the holidays. There are far fewer folks around the mall. π
Since the dentist was a no go, I decided to have my meal at Banh Mi Kitchen. I liked the baked spring rolls that went well with this junior size lemongrass chicken sandwich. Lemon ginger lemonade on the side completed my lunch. I went for foot spa and cleaning after lunchtime. Ahhh felt so good... it was also cooler inside the spa shop than the mall itself. π I really enjoyed my time there.
After a few more stops from my list, I decided to take another sitting break. This new kiosk has a small dining place so I chose to give it a try. I didn't try the cheese pull though. π I settled for a blueberry cream cheese classic with cold brew macchiato (too strong for my taste π€£). Sadly, McDonald's was closed so I couldn't buy nuggets for the kitties. [It's great I have a pack of frozen nuggets in the freezer. I treated them to that one instead.]

shoutout to @shadowspub for the daily prompt
I think the excitement of a new year is that we don't know what it will bring. We remain optimistic and look forward to better things. At this point in time, I don't want to think of anything negative, although a part of me remains a realist. I know that the good ole days is a far gone concept. We could never go back to how we were then. We can only look forward. Hopefully, the options we choose will lead us to a better future. Earlier I watched a homily segment from Fr. Dave Concepcion, and he mentioned this, "Happiness is a choice. Joy is a gift." πβ€οΈπ‘ It's inspiring to be listening to homily once in a while. In a way, it gives me motivation in welcoming this brand new year, even if I have no idea what's coming. May 2025 be a really great year for all of us. Inshallah!
I do wonder if I could fit another day for dental visit (like Saturday?). I will try and find out tomorrow is there's a slot available then. I do intend to stay home tomorrow and simply catch up with rest after my trek to the mall. It's not always pleasant after walking for some time. π I seriously doubt if I could still go hiking at all. π
Thankfully, I managed to catch up with my daily affiliate sites, though I started late today. I'm like very close to $5 on LL now. Tomorrow will be the result of the LL coop link weekly earnings. I will also be doing some ALIVE tokens staking then.
That's it for today. It's now past my bedtime, so I hope to have some restful sleep. Tomorrow is another day. Let's welcome with happiness whatever comes our way. Have a wonderful day! Nighty night from Manila. Ta-tah! π
