Our dress compliment our look

Physical appearance clearly speaks about the outward look of an individual, It is not just about how we dresses at home which is our personal outfit, but entails how we dresses as professionals. One most important thing about our dressing is that it influences how people perceives about us like the popular saying goes you are address the way you dress.

Wears speaks alot, as it is more than covering our privacy. First as an individual, it boast ourself esteem and confidence and there are so many times I put on nice clothes and automatically my walking steps changes raising my heads up high like the queen of England while sometimes I just pick anything and wear but while walking on the street I pray inside of me that my future husband doesn't see me. 🤣

That's just by the way. Now when going for an interview aside the fact we are prepared to chest any question thrown at us, one important factor to put into due consideration is our look. Yes of course our physical appearance or do you want to go to a bank setting for an interview looking like you are just coming from the mechanic? Am pretty sure nobody wants.

About two years back, 2022 to be precise I applied for a construction training in Abuja of which I was considered during our process of training some young cute and eligible graduates came sorting for a job opportunity in the administrative department. First day they submitted their application letters and were given dates to come for the interview. Finally the D-day for the interview came some dressed nicely since it's an admin work but this young mister made a mistake with his dressing. Although he was dripping as in but why will you wear a crazy Jean trouser, a t-shirt and put on earrings on both ears oga like it doesn't even make any sense. To cut the long story short, he wasn't sent out but was allowed to partook in the interview. After attempting the questions correctly my guy was asked why he dressed as if he was heading to a party and he said that's how he dresses funny. 🤣 Our madam Tasha kindly told he they would get back to him and that was the last time he set foot again in the organization. With the example I have just stated and some many other examples happening around us, it is necessary to put into due consideration our physical appearance first before any other thing as it can disqualify you before even attempting the interviewers questions.

I honestly don't think only skills should be considered and not looks because if that should happen it would be quite difficult to distinguish between this profession and that profession. Okay let's take a look at the law firm. one thing that complement them even before uttering a work is their regalia the respect alone is on another level imagine taking off the robes and the wigs so anyone can dress the way they like, takes away the professionalism in their field because if you are to leave some ladies they don't mind to put on bubu gown to work making the environment look like a market place. So both looks and skills work hand in hand. win the people attention to yourself first with your elegant dress after that dish whatever skill you have to showcase simple.

If the opportunity was given to me to to change the system of dress code, i won't even dare to rather I'll make it more strict a chef dress like a chef, a banker should look like a banker, mechanic look like mechanic, lawyer lawyer and so many other profession that even an illiterate who has never seen the four walls of a classroom can be able to distinguish which is this and that.😊
