Is man's fate controlled by God? (Part 2 of 2) | The Old Path

    Bible readings: 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12, Proverbs 16:9 Jeremiah 10:23 James 4:7 phillipians 2:13

God can be in control over the fate of a man if the man allows God. When God created man, He gave him free will. This means that God made man have control over his decisions and choices. Man is allowed to decide how his fate plays out, just like the saying that goes, "Our destiny is in our hands."

God will not enforce His will in us. The only way God's will can take effect in our lives is if we give Him the permission. Either we allow the will of God to have its way in our lives or we decide to disobey God and take control of ourselves. By doing so, our destiny then depends on our actions.

This often leads to sabotage of our destinies. Brother Eli proves this in the book of 2 Thessalonians 2:11–12.

2Thessalonians 2.11 - And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Thessalonians 2.12 - That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The second verse tells us the repercussions of those who reject the truth. Jesus made us know that He is the truth. So this means that those who reject the truth are rejecting Him. And the reward for that brings damnation to the people involved.

People who refuse to submit to God but live in their own accord live their lives in delusions without being aware. They think they are making the right choice, and it may seem like things are going perfectly, but in the real sense they are living their lives based on a lie.

Life outside God is false. God is the giver of life; this means that He is in the best position to dictate how we live our lives. No one else can dictate it for us, not even ourselves. Whatever choices we make on our own without the direction from God could have a dangerous effect.

God's control over our fate is dependent on us. It is ours to allow God to rule over us or be in control of our fate.

    Proverbs 16:9
A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

A man plans how the outcome of his life will be. All God can do is give directions to him. God may give a man direction, but if he doesn't decide to go in the direction given by God, God will not do anything about it.

Submitting ourselves to God is the best thing we can do for ourselves. Anyone under God's loving care and guidance is sure of a blessed life. We can only have such a life if we decide to submit to Him. Failure to submit to God makes us vulnerable to the devil. Such a life would not do us any good.
