I played badminton yesterday, as this ha become my weekly routine. It was an intense couple of games with some very competitive players that had me regretting the few drinks I had prior to going.
So, immediately after work, I decided to play video game for a few minutes and one thing led to another, a bit of whiskey touched my lips. It was nothing more than a few shots of whiskey that seemingly felt harmless but that was not the case.
Other than having a bit too much to drink before sports activity, I left home feeling dehydrated. After a couple of games, I was severely dehydrated and struggling to breathe, at times.
As if sent by an angel, I got a lift back home from a friendly fellow who just recently moved to Nottingham. He's also got a degree in mechanical engineering and was telling me about tutoring opportunities in the UK. I'll be exploring that route as a side hustle, as I hear that physics and maths teachers are scarce.
Anyway, the moral of the story is that if you're going to play badminton or any other sports, don't drink before going. Well, not unless you're one of those Sunday league guys that give us funniest football videos mankind has ever seen.
Enjoy.
