Everyone I know loves Xiao Long Bao, and I’ve tried it many times before, but I still don’t understand what they love about it. I can barely taste the soup inside because the wrapper is so delicate, it tears apart too easily when picked up.
When I heard about Din Tai Fung, I heard that it is very famous for its Xiao Long Bao. my friend and family who tried it would always recommend it. So when I went to manila, one of the first thing I did is I went to Mall of Asia and looked for Din Tai Fung. when I found it, I immediately went inside. I can say the service was very good. they would guide you to your table. they even have a basket for your bags and things so you can be comfortable when eating. So I asked for the menu and ordered a Xiao Long Bao and some noodles.
Before my food arrived, they would asked if its your first time to eat at Din Tai Fung. if yes, then they would explain to how to eat the Xiao Long Bao. here are the steps on how to eat Xia Long Bao.
- Put a soy sauce and vinigar in the ginger dish.
- Dip the Xiao Long Bao in the sauce.
- Place Xiao Long Bao in the spoon and poke a small hole to release the broth.
- Enjoy Xia Long Bao with some ginger and the broth.
While waiting for my food, i went around to take some photo.

I tried to take a closer look. it was very satisfying to watch while they make the Xiao Long Bao.
Finally my food arrived. I ordered an egg plant with minced pork, braised beef noodles and pork Xiao Long Bao. I tried to follow the recommended steps for eating Xiao Long Bao but skipped the soy sauce so I could fully savor the flavor. The wrapper was not torn when picked, the experience was delightful. The best part was the warm soup bursting in my mouth, it was absolutely satisfying. The braised beef noodle is also delicious. the beef was so tender especially the tendon.
This is the best Xiao Long Bao I have tasted so far. I would definitely come back and eat again. They still have many dish I want to try especially their noodles.
