Piercing is the process of opening a particular part of the body to insert jewelry, piercing modifies the body and is significant in some cultures and religion.

Piercing has been into existence for decades even people in the olden days who had loss of wealth did piercing.

    History of piercing.

Piercing started from the ancient people to our day, back to 3,000 BCE boat men and women got involved in piercing at some point it became a mark to identify which or welding people in that time especially in the Indian culture and trial.

Cultures and traditions differs to does the belief and understanding attached to wearing jewelry or beats differs as well as piercing of the nose or any other part of the body, some drugs associated with beauty why others have a different view of piercing.

In some cultures piercing are for matured woman who are ready for marriage or who are married one in some traditions piercing is associated with medicine such as menstrual pain and pain that comes during childbirth.

    Classes of piercing.

There are different type of piercing each culture and tradition have their own type of piercing based on the belief that is attached to it either beauty health or aesthetic purposes.
The facial person that can be in the lips knows or eyebrow, the ear piercing that can be in the lobe, tragus, and industral also the oral piercing that can be done on the center part of the tongue or at the upper frenulum.

There is also body piercing that can be in some part of the body like the nipple, genital and navel part of the body..

    Piercing process.

The process determines how good it will look and how fast it will the healing process will take.

There are two form of piercing, needle and gun piercing, the needle piercing is said to be faster in healing and also look more beautiful, the process requires preparing the person both mentally and physically, then after piercing some medical treatment is given to the person to help the not to get infected.

Due to risk involved in piercing like bacteria infection, allergic reaction, body rejection and keloid, it is very important to maintain hygiene before, during and after piercing.

Do i like piercing of any sort

Personally i would have loved nose piercing just for beauty sake, because it adds more beauty but my surroundings makes it difficult for me to have one.

I had a friend who was a responsible girl, she had no questionable attitude but my mother never liked her just because she had a nose ring, if when i tried my best to let her understand that it was just for beauty my mother saw no reason to believe me, just because she had same view that others in my locality have over piercing, you can imagine what will happen if i try piercing mine.

Yes we are an African country with different cultures and traditions so the view of piercing depends on the culture and tradition you belong to.

    Piercing limits job opportunities.

In my country some view piercing as a way to enhance beauty while some have some fetish attachment to it, to worsen it all most regions frown at piercing because most people who pierce their body are professional prostitutes .

There are still some who use piercing for medicinal purposes so the view depends on where you find yourself.

So even when you have interest in having a tattoo or piercing you won't go for it because you don't want people to see you as someone who is not well trained.

Sometimes ago even the government securities questioned young ones who have tattoos or piercings.

Since piercing is not totally acceptable when it comes to dressing and grooming definitely it may limit job opportunities, normally people who go for job interviews will dress in an appropriate way that befits the job environment and will also make you the applicant look fit for the job.

Unfortunately physical appearance doesn't define what someone can offer but people look at physical appearance a whole lot and this has lead to wrong judgment about people and who they are.

Since you can't start your interview by defending why you dressed the way you did and the reason of your piercing so its much better that you go with what the environment view as decent dressing.

For example a hospital will not be comfortable having a nurse who has a ring on her nose of tongue, not that its really bad but the message it sends out to the patients and other workers around, same is applicable to a medical doctor or a secretary of a company.

I once wanted to get my nose pierced but as a medical practitioner that wouldn't say positive things about me in my locality and my parents will start questioning my conduct so i didn't go for it again.

Piercing of any part of the body is not bad, but cultures and traditions has a lot to say on Piercing

    What do you think?
