Hola Hive! y a esta gran comunidad Music, como siempre digo, un placer compartir sobre música aquí en esta comunidad. Hoy quiero hacer algo diferente a lo que acostumbro y escribir un poco sobre un álbum emblemático en la historia del Rock & Roll y de la música en general, hablo del mítico "The Dark Side of the Moon", álbum perteneciente a la más que legendaria banda de Rock Británica Pink Floyd, pioneros del Rock Progresivo y reconocidos por su estilo Rock Psicodélico junto a The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, , Yes y otros en los que muchas veces llegan a agregar a The Beatles. The Dark Side of the Moon desborda en el estilo psicodélico, que trata de provocar con sus sonidos un efecto parecido a una droga auditiva, inofensiva claro.
Este álbum fue grabado en Abbey Road Studios en Londres y lanzado el 1 de Marzo de 1973 en Reino Unido, vendió más de 45 millones de copias en todo el mundo, siendo solo superado en la historia por el increíble "Thriller" de Michael Jackson y uno de mis favoritos "Back in Black" de ACDC.

Cada lado es una pieza continua de música y reflejan varios estados de la vida. Este empieza y termina con latidos de un corazón, explora la naturaleza del ser humano, la empatía, según Roger Waters. Hablan sobre la perdida del tiempo y lo rápido que este suele pasar, habla sobre la soledad y el refugio en la música, sobre la avaricia y el consumismo, sobre la salud mental y el daño que le provoca a esta poner el éxito y la fama por encima de nuestras necesidades y por encima de nosotros mismos, este termina con la canción Eclipse y la increíble frase "En realidad no hay un lado oscuro de la Luna, esta es toda oscura de hecho" y unos latidos de corazón justo como empezó.

Existe una teoría llamada The Dark Side of the Rainbow, la que consiste en que si reproduces este álbum junto a la película de El Mago de Oz de 1963 esta logran una sincronización en su contenido visual y auditivo, teoría que fue desmentida por la banda pero es una experiencia real.
En mi opinión es un álbum con un concepto increíble y un acabado extraordinario, exponiendo instrumentales y letras de lujo, destaco canciones como Money, Time, Brain Damage, Us and Them y Eclipse sin quitar ningún tipo de merito a las otras, un álbum muy recomendado.

Today I want to do something different from what I usually do and write a little about an emblematic album in the history of Rock & Roll and music in general, I'm talking about the mythical "The Dark Side of the Moon", an album belonging to the more than legendary British Rock band Pink Floyd, pioneers of Progressive Rock and recognized for their Psychedelic Rock style with The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, , Yes and others in which they often add The Beatles. The Dark Side of the Moon overflows in the psychedelic style, which is nothing more than provoking with its sounds an effect similar to an auditory drug, harmless of course.

Each side is a continuous piece of music and reflects various states of life. It begins and ends with a heartbeat, explores the nature of the human being, empathy, according to Roger Waters. They talk about the waste of time and how quickly it usually passes, it talks about loneliness and refuge in music, about greed and consumerism, about mental health and the damage it causes to it to put success and fame above our needs and above ourselves, it ends with the song Eclipse and the incredible line "There is no dark side in the moon really, Matter of fact, it's all dark" and a last heartbeat, just like it started.
Random Fact:
There is a theory called The Dark Side of the Rainbow, which is that if you play this album together with the 1963 movie The Wizard of Oz it achieves a synchronization in its visual and auditory content, a theory that was denied by the band but is a real experience.
In my opinion it is an album with an incredible concept and an extraordinary finish, exposing instrumentals and luxurious lyrics, I highlight songs like Money, Time, Brain Damage, Us and Them and Eclipse without taking away any kind of merit from the others, a highly recommended album.
