Calambrião Beach - Cumuruxatiba | Bahia

Today I bring you the last post from my trip to Cumuruxatiba, talking about my visit to Calambrião beach. I think this trip served to establish this beach as one of my favorites in Cumuru, for several reasons, but mainly for the beauty of the trees on the white sands of this place.

Calambrião beach is practically deserted, largely because of the access to it. Visitors most often arrive by car, but there is a small obstacle: there isn't much space to leave the cars and the access down the cliff to the beach is quite steep, making it difficult for anyone to access.

Children, the elderly or very sedentary people may find it difficult to go down and up the trail, which has a rope acting as a handrail.

But once you're on the beach, you won't have much to worry about other than appreciating its beauty. The dry, dead trees give it a special charm and make up the landscape in a cinematic way. I couldn't help but take some pictures there and I was very happy with the result. I shared some photos taken in this setting in this previous post, which talks about my artistic work with photography.

One of the things that struck me most about this beach was its tranquillity and the fact that almost no people pass by, even during the high season.
There were only a few locals and a small fishing boat. Apart from that, the beach seemed exclusive to me and my friends. And also for Maya, the local dog that you can see running around in the images above.

Another intriguing sight on this beach is the ruin of an old house, which lies right on the sand. It is said that rising sea levels were responsible for the destruction of the old house, but even so it has never been completely removed and occupies the landscape. Some say it was even the setting for a Brazilian soap opera.

The late afternoon at Calambrião beach also proved to be an absolutely magical setting and the colors in the sky looked like a painting, mixing shades of blue and orange. A mesmerizing scene where the sun gave way to the moon.

All these details made this one of the best days of my stay in Cumuruxatiba and I can't wait to get back to this dream beach, which looks like it's straight out of a movie.

I hope you enjoyed my adventures in the south of Bahia.
