They defeated the German side Borussia Dortmund (2-0) at Wembley to lift the trophy. That makes it the fifth time Real Madrid and Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti will be winning the competition. That win als.makes it the fifteenth time Real Madrid is winning the UEFA Champions League. Congrats 👏 🎉 to them once again.

Larry begins his look at today in history from the world of broadcasting. He finds out that on this day in 1980, Ted Turner's Cable News Network (CNN), based in Atlanta, launched 24-hour live news broadcasts and rose to international prominence in 1991 for its round-the-clock coverage of the Persian Gulf War.
From the world of broadcasting, Larry goes to the USA. He finds out that on this day 2009, General Motors, an American automobile manufacturer, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection; it emerged from the reorganisation quickly and returned to the stock market in 2010 with one of the largest initial public offerings in US history.
From the USA, Larry goes to the Czech Republic. He finds out that on this day in 2002, The Czech Republic was the first country to pass legislation to combat light pollution; all outdoor fixtures were required to have a screen that prevented light from reaching above the horizontal.
From The Czech Republic, Larry goes to France. He finds out that on this day in 1958, Charles de Gaulle appeared before the French National Assembly as prime minister-designate following an uprising that broke out in Algiers.
From France, Larry goes to Indonesia. He finds out that on this day in 1945, Sukarno, an Indonesian nationalist leader, articulated the Pancasila—the Five Principles—in a speech, which became the founding philosophy of the independent Indonesia.
Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from England. He finds out that on this day in 1907, English aviation engineer and pilot Sir Frank Whittle, who invented the jet engine, was born in Coventry, Warwickshire, England.
Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
