Ever since I was a kid, downtown has left me with a sense of wonderment. I think watching so many movies that were filmed in New York and Chicago helped me to feel like my own downtown was just a little taste of what those metropolises are like. As I have still not been to either city, I am dreaming about one day capturing those incredible towers. For the entirety of my life, Calgary has been a bit of a boom and bust town, and even when things are down, there are always construction cranes building ever larger towers. I doubt I have captured even half of these buildings, so there is always a gold mine of architectural photography to capture when I do get to go downtown.
