Every January 14th the Procession of the "Divina Pastora" leaves the town of Santa Rosa. Honestly, I am not a very religious person, but I am always impressed by the amount of people that are in these places and the things they do. Although I am not a practicing Catholic, my family is and I was invited by them to visit the town of Santa Rosa, the home of the Divina Pastora.
The first thing that struck me immediately when I left was that everyone was dressed in white, it is a custom to wear white, and I.... well... I was wearing black, oops!
Cada 14 de Enero sale del Pueblo de Santa Rosa la Procesión de la ¨Divina Pastora.¨ Sinceramente, no soy una persona muy religiosa, pero siempre me impresiona la cantidad de personas que se encuentran en estos lugares y las cosas que hacen. A pesar de no ser practicante de la religión católica, mi familia si lo es y fui invitada por ellos a visitar el pueblo de Santa Rosa, el hogar de la Divina Pastora.
Lo primero que me impactó de inmediato al salir fue que todos estaban vestidos con una prenda blanca, es una costumbre ir de ese color, y yo... bueno... Andaba de negro, ups!
The place is quite large, there is a museum (I could not enter because it is paid) Many murals, crafts and the magnificent ¨Santuario de Santa Rosa.¨ I am a big fan of architecture and when I saw the structure of this temple I was shocked.
El lugar es bastante amplio, hay un Museo (No pude entrar porque es pago) Muchos murales, artesanías y el Magnifico ¨Santuario de Santa Rosa.¨ Soy muy fanática de la arquitectura y al ver la estructura de este templo quedé impactada.
My favorite part of the whole place was undoubtedly the viewpoint, we went at about 5pm when it was already getting dark, and I am very sincere when I tell you that watching the sun go down in a place like this has no comparison. Even though there were many people you could enjoy the view (although I did not go on the 14th, the day of the profession, because we knew there were too many people, we went a couple of days before and it was still quite crowded).
Mi parte favorita de todo el lugar sin duda fue el mirador, fuimos a eso de las 5pm cuando ya estaba atardeciendo, y soy muy sincera cuando les digo que ver el como el sol se esconde en un lugar así no tiene comparación. A pesar de haber muchas personas se podía disfrutar de la vista (Aunque no fui el 14, el día de la profesión, porque sabíamos que habían demasiadas personas, fuimos y par de días antes e igual estaba bastante lleno)
