Ponpon Spring and Yumury River

Hello photographers and photo lovers. Today, I want to write and show pics on a famous spring and river of my small town 100kms from Havana.
I used to frequent this place during my childhood, and so it brings lots of memories of those happy times.
Let me first show you "El Ponpon" spring, this fresh and crystal clear water has been flowing from under the earth for as long as I have memory of, many composers and poets of the city have mentioned it in their writings. There is a saying that whoever drinks water from this spring stays forever in the city.

Look how clear and fresh this water flows out and into a nearby river named Yumuri.

Some motorists bring their motorcycles to wash in this place every day.

The water flows out this way into the river. As a child, I used to bring small net and capture small fish for my aquarium.

This is the way up to the bridge. This path connects the city from north to south. It's just a pedestrian path.

This is a view of both sides of the Yumuri river. It was indeed a beautiful morning. The caves you see back on the hill used to be the shelter of the first Indian tribes that inhabited this area. Those caves are called Indian Caves.

The bidge pathway is no more than about 1.20cm wide, and the length is approximately 130m long. It's all built of concrete, but originally, the bridge path was made of wood.

The white buckets you see along belong to some fishermen trying to catch river crabs polularly known as "jaibas," a species of crab smaller in size, but with a nice and tasty flavor when cooked. They drop a round small net with fish clug to it as bait. When the crabs come to eat the fish, they get stuck in the net.
This time, the catch was small in size. Look:

Not all is good and perfect, the river shows on this side some pollution of plastics, it seems that the current gathers them all in this corner.

I want to finish with this beautiful picture of this side of the river with this building on top of the hill.

Well, photographie lovers, I hope you liked my post. All the pictures were taken by this amateur using a Samsung A54 camera.
