The world is not how we used to know it to be. During the days of our fathers, and grandparents, a person with a 9 to 5 job, can live comfortably without the stress of having two jobs to meet the family requirements. Interestingly, with this same 9 to 5, they could also buy properties and make some investments here and there. Welp, things are no more the way they used to be.
During those days, technology was not as big as it is today and people, probably did not really pay much attention to it.
Technological evolution has positively impacted humanity at large, though it was at the expense of the job of many people, but then, many people adapted and also evolved because they understood perfectly that, in other to fit well in this modernized and technologically developing society, digital skills are required.
There are a lot of digital skills out there which are really admirable and interesting to learn. Software engineering and programming, video editing, cyber security and many more, are some of the skills I hope to learn, but, I guess, I will have to gain mastery in the ones I know first before going to learn any other one.
I have quite a handful of digital skills, ranging from music edit to graphic design, though I don't consider my skills as already sharpened cause' I see a flaw or two.
GRAPHIC DESIGN
My interest for design started many years ago, when I was using a Nokia C3.
Back then, I usually play around with my Nokia c3. It has a feature that allows users to edit photos, so, with this, I usually change the color of pictures, and then, add some words and clip arts.
Currently, I've migrated from using the edit feature of small phones, to using canva.
The most recent design I made is the picture above. It was for a prompt topic of this community.
I don't actually use this skill for the purpose of getting money, rather, I consider it as a hobby. I love doing designs and editing videos, most of which are my personal videos. I didn't go to any school to learn, neither do I went to YouTube, but, everything I know is as a result of trial and error.
MUSIC EDIT
This also, I would not actually call this a job persé but also, it's a hobby. Sometimes, I get bored at home, without nothing to do, so, instead of watching a movie or something, I go online to start looking for ways to mix a beat, or sing a song. Sometimes, I get overwhelmed, and just leave everything till God knows when.
PROGRAMMING
I have not totally mastered this skill, but I'm still learning.
I recently went to my Facebook to check some edits I did when I became interested in designing, but I saw none. Instead, what I saw was the screenshots I made when I first became interested in software programming.
I took this screenshot many years ago, when I was learning programming from my elder brother. He wanted me to be a programmer and I was totally fine with it, but then, my mom suggested nursing which I was cool with. After I entered school, I forgot everything about programming, welp, until lately when I saw that, the knowledge of programming is necessary to be what I want to be.
I began to learn programming again, I just went straight to html, and I plan to do css and Java and Java script afterwards. However, it's really difficult to combine many things at once, so, I took a pause on that.
All these are really special to me cause' even though I am not actually interested in making money with these skills, doing them makes me feel really happy and that's all that matters to me.
