Solving the problem of a water leak in my sister's apartment

Hello friends, I hope everyone is well, sometimes in the house we have some problems with water leaks, which make us think and think, when the solution involves breaking walls and ceramics, because these jobs are very expensive and on the other hand, if we break a part of the ceramics, it is most likely that these ceramics will not be obtained, because they are very old, for this reason, we have to look for some options that allow us to solve this type of problem, without demolishing the ceramics on the walls or those of the floor.

I TELL YOU, that yesterday morning my sister called me to tell me that in recent days she had noticed that the hallway wall of her apartment was wet and today morning she noticed a certain amount of water on the floor. Well friends, when my sister has a problem in the apartment, I am always ready to help her regardless of the day or time, so I immediately went to her apartment to try to help her solve this problem.

Detecting a water leak in the wall

When I arrived at my sister's apartment, the first thing I did was observe the dampness of the wall on the outside of the hallway, the truth is that it was quite damp and with a small trickle of water on the floor, well friends, coincidentally, on the inside of this wall is the kitchen and the laundry room of the apartment, and precisely in the area where the wall is damp there is a tub for washing clothes and the drainage pipe for the water from the washing machine, so I immediately told my sister to fill the washing machine. and then drain the water.

I TELL YOU friends, when the washing machine began to drain the water, water immediately began to come out of the wall on the outside of the hallway, on the inside of the kitchen everything looked normal, because the entire wall is covered with ceramic, I think that this water leak could be due to a joint in the pipe, the problem is that this pipe is embedded in the wall and in order to locate the leak you have to break the wall, which would involve breaking the ceramic, because it is not advisable to break the wall at the external side, since that side corresponds to the façade of the building's hallways and it is not advisable to leave marks from this repair.

The drainage pipe that is leaking water runs through here: Look how wet the wall looks and there is a little water on the floor.

I have two options to try to solve the problem

• The first option: This option consists of buying a flexible hose similar to the one that comes with the washing machine and joining these two hoses so that the water from the washing machine drains directly through the tub pipe, this option is faster without having to break the wall, the bad thing is that my sister will have to stretch the hose every time she goes to wash and then when finished, pick it up again.

• Second Option: This option consists of purchasing a 1x1/2 inch diameter flexible hose to introduce it through the 2" inch pipe, which has the leak, the important thing is to ensure that said hose can come out at the other end of the pipe to incorporate it into the drain, I like this option better than the first, because everything will remain as it was before.

I went out with my sister to buy the hose

Well friends, this morning I went out with my sister to buy a flexible hose and after visiting several hardware stores, we finally managed to get a model of flexible hose very similar to the original one on the washing machine, but I cannot insert it into the pipe that is broken because even though this hose is flexible, it looks very weak, I think that over time it can be damaged inside the pipe. So for now I'm going to join this hose with the washing machine hose, so that the washing machine drains the water through the tub.

Well friends, the first option was one of the quickest we found so as not to break the kitchen ceramic, but both my sister and I liked the second option which consists of inserting the hose into the 2-inch pipe, so I will continue looking for a hose that is quite resistant and at the same time flexible so that it can pass through the 90º joints that the damaged pipe has, well, the important thing is that my sister can now use her washing machine without causing water spills in the hallway of the building and also to avoid inconvenience with the neighbors who constantly walk through this hallway.

Now my sister will use the laundry room drain to drain the water from the washing machine.

Solucionando el problema de una fuga de agua en el apartamento de mi hermana

Hola amigos, deseo que todos estén bien, a veces en la casa se nos presentan algunos inconvenientes con fugas de aguas, que nos ponen a pensar y pensar, cuando la solución implica romper paredes y cerámicas, porque estos trabajos son muy costosos y por otra parte, si rompemos una parte de las cerámicas, lo más seguro es que estas cerámicas no se consigan, porque son muy viejas, por esta razón, tenemos que buscar algunas opciones que nos permitan solucionar este tipo de problema, sin demoler las cerámicas de las paredes o las del piso.

LES CUENTO, que ayer en la mañana mi hermana me llamó para decirme que en estos ultimos días había notado que la pared del pasillo de su apartamento estaba húmeda y hoy en la mañana observó cierta cantidad de agua en el piso. Bueno amigos, cuando a mi hermana se le presenta algún problema en el apartamento, siempre estoy presto a ayudarla sin importar el día ni la hora, así que enseguida fui hasta su apartamento para tratar de ayudarla a resolver este inconveniente.

Detectando una fuga de agua en la pared

Cuando llegué al apartamento de mi hermana, lo primero que hice fue observar la humedad de la pared en la parte externa del pasillo, la verdad es que estaba bastante húmeda y con un pequeño hilo de agua en el piso, bueno amigos, casualmente, por la parte interna de esta pared se encuentra la cocina y el lavandero del apartamento, y precisamente por la zona donde se humedece la pared hay una batea para lavar ropa y la tubería del drenaje de las aguas de la lavadora, por lo que enseguida le dije a mi hermana que llenara la lavadora y que luego drenara el agua.

LES CUENTO amigos, cuando la lavadora comenzó a drenar el agua, enseguida comenzó a salir agua por la pared del lado externo del pasillo, por la parte interna de la cocina se veia todo normal, porque toda la pared está revestida con cerámica, pienso que esta fuga de agua podría ser por alguna junta de la tubería, el problema es que esta tubería esta embutida en la pared y para poder localizar la fuga hay que romper la pared, lo que implicaría romper la cerámica, porque no es recomendable romper la pared por el lado externo, ya que ese lado corresponde a la fachada de los pasillos del edificio y no es conveniente que queden marcas de esta reparacion.

Por acá pasa la tuberia del drenaje que esta filtrando agua: Miren como se ve húmeda la pared y en el piso hay un poquito de agua.

Tengo dos opciones para tratar de resolver el problema

• La primera opción: Esta opción consiste en comprar una manguera flexible similar a la que trae la lavadora y unir estas dos mangueras para que el agua de la lavadora drene directamente por la tubería de la batea, esta opción es más rápida sin tener que romper la pared, lo malo es que la manguera mi hermana tendrá que estirar la manguera cada vez que vaya a lavar y luego al terminar, volverla a recoger.

• Segunda Opción: Esta opción consiste en comprar una manguera flexible de 1x1/2 pulgada de diametro para introducirla por la tubería de 2" pulg, que presenta la fuga, lo importante es lograr que dicha manguera pueda salir por el otro extremo de la tubería para incorporarla al drenaje, esta opción me gusta mas que la primera, porque todo va quedar como estaba antes.

Salí con mi hermana a comprar la manguera

Bueno amigos, hoy en la mañana salí con mi hermana a comprar una manguera flexible y después de visitar varias ferreterías, al fin logramos conseguir un modelo de manguera flexible muy similar a la original de la lavadora, pero no la puedo introducir dentro de la tubería que está rota porque a pesar de que esta manguera es flexible, se ve muy débil, pienso que con el tiempo se puede dañar dentro de la tubería. Así que por los momentos voy a unir esta manguera con la manguera de la lavadora, para que la lavadora drene el agua por la batea.

Ahora mi hermana usará la batea para drenar el agua de la lavadora

Bueno amigos, la primera opción fue una de la más rápidas que encontramos para no romper la cerámica de la cocina, pero tanto a mi hemana como yo, nos ha gustado la segunda opción la cual consiste en introducir la manguera dentro de la tubería de 2 pulgadas, así que seguiré buscando una manguera que sea bastante resistente y que a la vez sea flexible para que pueda pasar por las juntas de 90º que posee la tubería dañada, bueno mis amigos, lo importante es que mi hermana ya puede utilizar su lavadora sin causar derrames de aguas por el pasillo del edificio y también para evitar inconvenientes con los vecinos.
