Have you been in a situation where everyone on your street has light,(power supply) except your house? Do you know how terribly that makes you feel? Well, that's exactly how I felt the morning I found out my phone which was plugged over the night didn't really charge.
My whole mood changed as I turn on my phone to see a red bar, "how did it happen?" I kept wondering.
I used to have a phone which was very problematic, from charging port, to screen palava and everyday comes with one trouble to face.
I lost counts on how many chargers I bought to ensure the battery was always charged. Don't get me started on how the phone selected chargers like a life partner, it was indeed frustrating but alas! I found one charger which it was ready to stick with.
That charger became a VIP(Very Important Person) in my life as, I knew the hassles it took me to find a perfect match for my phone.
That evening, I waited for the power supply to be restored but it took the Power Holding Company forever to do the needful. I slept off as one couldn't cheat nature. At about 2am, I noticed the power supply had been restored and as at that time by battery was completely flat. I quickly plugged my phone and hurried back to sleep with confidence that my battery would charge before it was dawn.
At about 6am, there was light out, so I decided to turn on my phone, only to find out that it was just 4%, I felt like crying because I didn't have an idea when the power supply would be restored again. I knew in my mind of minds that the light lasted for a couple of hours but what I couldn't figure out was why my phone didn't charge.
My whole day was ruined, it was like I was all alone in the world. It was that day I believe that I had grown so fond of my phone and it felt like a part of me was missing.
It was the weekend which made it even worse for me, I found solace in doing my house chores until noon, I just forcefully slept because if I and decided to read I would be deceiving myself. I was bitterly pained and I just kept praying the power supply would be restored in no time. At about 6pm, the power supply was restored and when I plugged my phone, I realized the charging port was faulty again, I went crazy!!
I had no choice but to stay two days without my phone because the engineer would resume by Monday. Sunday was worse, as most times I do Netflix and Chill with my phone after service. Damn!! I wonder why people think relationship is the only thing that could break one's heart. I could tell you for free that my heart was shattered and I looked forward to Monday like it was my wedding day hehe.
I'm glad I changed that phone which was sent to kill me after some months and I also bought good powerbanks. I don't think the Power Holding Company has a thing on me anymore and now if I choose to go offline without my phone, it will be my choice and I wouldn't feel bad as I did when it happened unannounced.
