Everyone of us have found ourselves in certain situations that seems as though all hope is lost. We all need help and someone that can help us with the burdens we are experiencing. At such times, the best option we have is to call on God. There are situations that are just beyond the capabilities of human beings.
We can't do without calling on God. Calling upon Him is the right He has given to us as His children. It's just like how you are able to express yourself with your earthly father freely, that's the same privilege we are given to do so with God in heaven. Calling upon God, which is the same thing as prayers, is one of the essentials of Christianity.
God is always expectant for us to bring any matter before Him, be it burdens or maybe we finding ourselves in states of confusion, or otherwise. Prayer is actually a commandment given to us by God. However, there are some prayers made which are considered to be vain before God. God does not regard such prayers.
John 9:31 - Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
This is what it means to say a prayer is vain before God. The prayer of a sinner is an abomination before God. Sinners are not granted that access to call upon God. It's like the case of an outcast seeking audience with a King. Now, we know that can be possible. If you're living in sin on a daily basis while calling upon the Lord, you shouldn't expect Him to hear you.
For God to be able to hear us, we need to abstain from all forms of evil. God can never be found in the midst of sin. That's why He turned His back on His son Jesus when he hung on the cross. Because at that moment, He was bearing the sin of the whole world. God cannot stand the sight of sin.
We need to do away with our sinful lives and live a life that is pleasing to God. God hearing our prayers is not actually difficult. The scripture make us know that those who worship God and do His will will surely be heard by Him.
