    Welcome Everyone

Hello Hivers and Warriors in Splinterlands, hope you all are having a great time enjoying your battles in Splinterlands. Let's enjoy the game and fight for some amazing rewards. Having battles in Splinterlands is always a good choice to spend your time. I enjoy every battles in Splinterlands and had great time in opening Rebellion packs. Normally, I will share anything about Splinterlands on the social media, it could be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

The topic of this post will mainly focus on my strategy on the close range rule set. And let's move on and discuss how we won the battle.

The Principal Rule Set: Close Range

    image.png

Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.

Note: You can use high HP or high speed Ranged monsters at position 2 (or even at position 1 if it has Heal). Choose summoners that give a bonus to Ranged attack or to speed and then choose high damage Ranged attack monsters. Beware of the possibility that your opponent might pick Lir Deepswimmer as summoner or monsters with Return Fire. High HP/Speed and Heal is the way to go in this ruleset.

    The Lineup Analysis

    Summoner

    image.png

The QUIX THE DEVIOUS is a good Dragon summoner while facing the possibility of rangers in battles. First of all, no melee monsters could be used due to the KEEP YOUR DISTANCE rule set. As I will encounter only two types of attack which are range and magic. Since the Close Range is there, I bet my enemy will use more rangers than magic monsters. Since most rangers are low in speed, I will mainly go for dubuff on my enemy such us -1 range or -1 speed on my enemy monsters. Besides, I will pick the monster with high speed to dodge the attack.

    Front Row

    image.png

The VOID DRAGON is a high speed Dragon monsters than can dodge any types of attack including the magic attack due to the Phase ability. As mentioned, most range monsters are heavy in damage but slow in speed. I was trying to make them miss their attack. Besides that, if my enemy goes for magic attack, my VOID DRAGON has the Void ability to reduce the damage received.

The NAGA ASSASSIN is also a ranger in Dragon element which costs low mana but has good stats. The monster only cost a little bit good in attack, moreover the Speed and backfire sometimes works well in battle. Using 2 Mana to exchange 2 range attack, 4 health and 6 speed to have the chance dodge attacks is very cost-effective. For the reason that I put it in second place is that it might have the chance to protect my backline rangers which are low in Health comparing to put it in a latter place.

    Third

    image.png

The XENITH ARCHER shares the same concept with my NAGA ASSASSIN. They are both 2 Mana cost monsters but NAGA ASSASSIN is somehow stronger than the NAGA ASSASSIN since the NAGA ASSASSIN has higher speed. I was trying the luck and chance to put high speed monster in a front space.

    Fourth

    image.png

The SOUL STRANGLER is my favorite in low mana battles while using the Death element since it is low in Mana cost which cost 3 Mana. But, the point is that it has 4 attack which is pretty amazing although it does not have any ability. The attract thing is excellent in damage but very Fragile which is easy to sacrifice. As a result, I put it in last place while concerning the chance of sneak ability is almost 0.

    Battle Result

It was a good example to proof that the high speed strategy works well in ranger battles. As a result, my reflection is that I will try to use this strategy when the rule set is favorable or I have enough mana to pick all the monsters with relevant ability to make a combination. Besides that, I also learn the strategy from my enemy to utilize the weapon training in some specific battles. But now, I do not have any single monsters with weapon training since I have not yet collected all the SB reward set. I will definitely try this strategy in the future since I think my enemy also has a good line up but the only concern is the speed problem while having the chance to miss attack.
