My grandmother is always in my heart and mind / Mi abuela siempre esta en mi corazón y mi mente [Spanish / English].

My grandmother was an extraordinary person who played a fundamental role in my life. She raised nine children (four daughters and five stepchildren) in the interior of the country in Puerto La Cruz and in the capital city, Caracas, in Venezuela. Throughout her life she played a variety of roles, from cook on oil tankers, house maid, seamstress and canary breeder. She was also an enthusiastic lottery player, often winning prizes. Although she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on in my memory and in my heart.

My grandmother was an incredibly strong and dedicated woman. She faced the responsibility of being a mother and father to her children and always did so with love and determination. Despite the difficulties she faced, she never gave up and always looked for ways to get ahead. Her work as a cook and seamstress enabled her to provide for her family, and her patience and kindness made her an emotional pillar for all of us.

In my childhood, I spent a lot of time with my grandmother, I am the son of a single mother who had to work to support me and help with the expenses of the home we lived in together with three aunts who also worked to support each other. She taught me many important values, such as the importance of respect, kindness and perseverance, she told me stories of her youth and taught me the value of saving. She also advised me on how to treat women with respect and affection, which has been fundamental in my formation as a person. Her wisdom and unconditional love left a deep impression on me, and I will always be grateful to her for all that I learned.

The loss of my grandmother 16 years ago was a devastating blow to me. Her absence left a void in my life that can never be filled. However, I have learned to get over her death by focusing on the good memories we shared and the values she instilled in me. Even though he is not physically present, his spirit continues to guide my steps and give me strength in difficult times.

It is important to note that he lived in a time of great change in Venezuela. During her youth, the country experienced an oil boom that brought with it a series of social and economic transformations. Mi abuela fue una persona extraordinaria que tuvo un papel fundamental en mi vida. Crió a nueve niños (cuatro hijas propias y cinco hijastros) en el interior del país en Puerto La Cruz y en la ciudad capital, Caracas, en Venezuela. A lo largo de su vida desempeñó diversos roles, desde cocinera en barcos petroleros, mujer de servicio en casas, costurera y criadora de canarios. Además, era una entusiasta jugadora de lotería, a menudo ganando premios. Aunque ya no está con nosotros, su legado perdura en mi memoria y en mi corazón.

Mi abuela era una mujer increíblemente fuerte y dedicada. Se enfrentó a la responsabilidad de ser madre y padre para sus hijos y siempre lo hizo con amor y determinación. A pesar de las dificultades que enfrentaba, nunca se rindió y siempre buscó la manera de salir adelante. Su trabajo como cocinera y costurera le permitió mantener a su familia, y su paciencia y bondad la convirtieron en un pilar emocional para todos nosotros.

En mi infancia, pasé mucho tiempo con mi abuela, soy hijo de una madre soltera que tenia que trabajar para mantenerme y ayudar a los gastos del hogar en que vivíamos en conjunto con tres tías que también trabajaban para apoyarse mutuamente. Ella me enseñó muchos valores importantes, como la importancia del respeto, la amabilidad y la perseverancia, me contaba historias de su juventud y me enseño el valor del ahorro. También me aconsejó sobre cómo tratar a las mujeres con respeto y cariño, lo cual ha sido fundamental en mi formación como persona. Su sabiduría y su amor incondicional dejaron una profunda huella en mí, y siempre le estaré agradecido por todo lo que me aprendí.

La pérdida de mi abuela hace 16 años fue un golpe devastador para mí. Su ausencia dejó un vacío en mi vida que nunca podrá ser llenado. Sin embargo, he aprendido a superar su muerte centrándome en los buenos recuerdos que compartimos y en los valores que me inculcó. A pesar de no estar físicamente presente, su espíritu sigue guiando mis pasos y dándome fuerzas en los momentos difíciles.

Es importante destacar que vivió en una época de grandes cambios en Venezuela. Durante su juventud, el país experimentó un auge petrolero que trajo consigo una serie de transformaciones sociales y económicas. Mi abuela trabajó en barcos petroleros, lo cual era una labor dura y exigente, pero que le permitió sostener a su familia en un momento de dificultad.

Además, fue testigo de muchos eventos históricos importantes, tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. A lo largo de su vida, vio cómo su país enfrentaba crisis económicas, conflictos políticos y cambios en la sociedad. A pesar de las adversidades, mi abuela siempre mantuvo una actitud positiva y nunca perdió la esperanza en un futuro mejor para su familia y su país.

Mi abuela fue una figura clave en la vida de sus hijos y de quienes la rodeaban. Su dedicación, su amor incondicional y su ejemplo de fortaleza y bondad dejaron una profunda impronta en todos nosotros.
