In case you don't know, this band is formed by Dylan Minette, Braeden Lemasters and Cole Preston. The genre of the album is a mix of indie rock and contemporary touches like pop.

Wallows seeks to achieve with this new work to reflect a little on the emotional complexities experienced by today's youth. The album's lyrics touch on topics such as miscommunication in relationships, anxiety and desires. This approach is something fans have come to expect and appreciate from the band. I actually find this point very interesting and even original.

On the other hand To make this work the band returned to collaborate with producer John Congleton, who also worked on their debut album "Nothing Happens" in 2019. In this new album, there are clear reminiscences of early 2000's indie rock, with notable influences from bands like The Strokes, but with a distinctive touch of Wallows own.

Recently the band members shared their experiences about the creative process behind "Model". Braeden Lemasters mentioned that some songs, like 'Bad Dream', stayed true to their original versions, while others, like 'Anytime, Always', underwent transformations from their early demos. This process is integral to how the band approaches their music, allowing initial ideas to develop and change. And I think the change was for the better.

They also highlighted the difference from their previous works, as for "Model" they tried to keep the songs more accessible, avoiding the overload of synthesizers and other elements that could distract from the core of the songs. This mostly to make their music a bit more natural.

An outstanding feature of this album is the coexistence of opposites in its songs. On the one hand, there are raw songs like 'Going Under', and on the other hand, there are songs that create good vibes like 'She's an Actress'. This duality was not necessarily planned, but came naturally as the songs took shape.

As far as I could tell one of the most notable innovations on 'Model' is the composition of long phrases in the choruses, which fit perfectly .This unconventional style adds a layer of complexity to the album. Songs like 'Your Apartment' and 'She's an Actress' exemplify this technique.

With the release of "Model" the band has also announced that they will be touring the United States and Europe.
