If it is no longer existing, who is to blame?

It was a sunny day morning today when I went to the highway. There was no traffic but I saw a carabao who walked like he owned the road. It didn't cause an inconvenience to the drivers who passed by because they were amused. Seems like it's their first time to see a carabao. The way it walked seems so unbothered. They may thought that they should give way because not all the times that there is a carabao on the highway. It's like bringing up the times when we saw carabaos side by side before. But these days, we can even ask,” Are the carabaos still existing?” Why? Do other people think that they are useless anymore?

Such a peaceful highway we have. I wish it remains that way, but the people enjoy seeing the newly established buildings than the trees for they think that it is convenient for commodities. The ricefield that provides a relaxing and green view will soon disappear, just like our animals, including carabaos. The people even enjoyed watching the carabao walking on the highway like they hadn't seen before, which only means that in the future, the kids will just recognize it in the picture. Or they will just see it in the zoo which is opposite to my childhood experience. I rode in a Carabao and fell on the ground, but it was magical to be with animals and nature.

Carabao is the national animal in the Philippines because it is hard-working. Since it's our national animal, I hope that the government will initiate to preserve their breed. Fortunately, some Filipino small farmers cannot afford the machines, so they use it presently to plow their fields. Every living thing is cared for if it has a use. I wish that that for some people, Carabaos are still useful not through their meat after being butchered. The bigholder farmers replaced it with a machine. Heartless people have butchered their live meat and sell at the market. If this continues, there will be no more carabaos soon, just like the wild lives that are slowly disappearing. I wish that more sanctuaries aim to preserve this animal.
