I suppose the hardest thing to do is to come back to the working routine after the holidays, or a longer break... 😃 Christmas and New Year holidays and a 3-days getaway trip to another city were such a nice "logout" from the workload (but still doing basic things on the way), that I had a hard time to kick myself in the butt and do this show! I was even considering skipping another week as to why I didn't create a classic announcement post for the show... At least I used our short-content platforms to announce it a few hours before doing it! Something good came out of it... 😃

What's also interesting is that those shows that aren't prepared, very often come out as a huge success... When I say huge success, it means that the discussion is well developed, many people participated in it, and it got a lot of value in bringing it up! Of course, in these "freestyle" editions, I have to say that most of the merits go to the participants who ignited the topics and participated in it... Don't want to take merits for someone else's work!
As I did a lousy job with promoting the show, we had a small group of active Hivians... I have to mention, that we had for the first time @alohaed and @dlmmqb, and they both jumped on the mic to introduce themselves and share some ideas and topics! It was great to have you on the show and I hope you will join them in the future too! Of course, the hardcore group of #HHHLive participants is always there and I don't know what would I do without you guys!
So, how it was? Well, I dropped a few ideas at the beginning of the show, like New Year resolutions, or HIVE goals for 2025, but it looks like none of them stuck with participants... 😃 The discussion went in the other direction, as the elephant in the room was the recent HIVE pump... But, this time, without the "dump" that was usually coming right behind the corner... When @felixxx came on the microphone sharing that it caught him off guard, it was comforting as I have to admit that I was caught off guard too! I sold some of my HIVE which I use for "playing around" (mostly for accumulating more through trades), in the expectation that the price would go down fast, and I will be able to buy more... That didn't happen, but I'm not worried, the majority of the tokens are still there, working as HivePower! 💪
Why was the HIVE price pumped? That was the first topic for discussion and @alohaed shared his view about it, stating that probably the main reason was that Binance added HIVE into their perpetual trading, and not long after that, a few more exchanges listed HIVE on them... That was an additional gasoline on fire, that pushed the price almost to 70 cents!
From that topic, we moved to talk about HivePower and how it is accumulating in the bull market and in the bear market... @palomap3 shared her idea of swapping from 100% HP rewards to 50-50% rewards to be able to use the liquid HBD to buy later more HIVE... Not a bad move, IF the price goes down... 🙂 As many people expect that the bull run has just started, we saw many Hivians powering down their HivePower, to have liquid HIVE to take some profits... If that trend continues, there is a chance that the curation rewards for the "rest of us" could go up... But, we will see...
@jza joined the show a bit later this time, but he wanted to contribute and shared that he agrees about the recent HIVE pump reason... He also started another huge topic which was floating around until the end of the show... He shared his recent experience with onboarding a friend to 3Speak and their confusion with rewards... It's not that easy for a newbie to understand that not the whole amount that shows under the post/video is the "payout amount" for the author... What should those calculations look like? Is it better to show ONLY author rewards under the post, or we should do it somehow differently... We had different opinions regarding that...
Of course, that led to the inevitable comparison between YouTube and 3Speak... Pros and cons, and how 3Speak could do better... Somehow, because they don't understand, newbies undervalue the importance of curation on HIVE, and curation rewards in general... It is a specific concept on HIVE, and it can't be comparable with anything similar on YouTube... The conclusion is somehow always the same, any dapp on HIVE, or HIVE itself, could be better and grow better if we share our suggestions at the right place... For example, 3Speak Discord could be a good place to share ideas about these small tweaks for the UX of the website...
In the second part of the show, closer to the end, @dlmmqb joined us on the microphone and shared some of his thoughts about the SEO on HIVE... Interestingly, I did a post about a very similar topic, where I tried to ignite discussion about the value of HIVE posts outside HIVE, as to get those visits, we have to be more "visible" on the search engines and that means better SEO...
As @dlmmqb didn't want all this finished only in words, he shared his work in the SEO field and ideas on how to improve it... Dynamic webpages are one of the "must-haves" and the idea of showing random posts is a nice start... As we were closing to the end of the show, @melinda010100 suggested @dlmmqb share those ideas in the "suggestion channel" on the Ecency discord! Usually, good and valuable ideas are implemented by developers! We hope that this will be the case for these ideas too!
