What a week it has been! I visited my surgeon on Thursday, concerned that my surgery from December did not work and was not healing. He took a look and decided that he had everything on hand in his office to probably fix things up. So, a handful of minutes later I was again sent home to heal. Hopefully correctly this time!
I'm glad I had the day off, and I spent much of Friday at rest as well. My wife suggested that given an impromptu surgery, perhaps we should move our trip to go see her folks at their farm... But man, I haven't been anywhere since December. The furthest afield ive gone is twenty minutes into the city for work.
So, naturally I said "no way" and we packed up for a few days at the farm and jumped into the car.
It was not the most comfortable two hours in a car, but, we made it just fine and the kids were over the moon with excitement.
Firstly because they get to see thier cousins, which they always love.
Secondly, because it's calving season, and that means they get to see baby cows.
I myself haven't been able to ride the side-by-side, as that's quite a bit more bumpy than the car is, so I haven't been as close but I did get to spend a bit of time at the coral up neat the house.
A trip up here is always relaxing. The kids have a blast and my wife and I both grew up on farms, so it's a return to the kind of life we prefer. Cities are convenient but too fast-paced, while the farm life is slow and relaxed.
The trip also reconfirmed something I said a week or two back. Even folks who have no typical interest in crypto are seeing the BTC ETF and jumping in.
My brother-in-law even was saying that at least one of his farmer friends jumped in on the ETF and he himself has been considering taking some of his mess-around-money to drop into BTC ETFs.
A decade ago when I first met him and had talked about crypto they were all dismissive of it. How things change!
