The manner by which a husband and a wife is relate with each other of utmost importance to God. There's a manner that is expected from the man by God to behave as there's also a way expected from the wife to behave in their marriage. Failure to carry out their distinct responsibilities could result to problems.
Whenever a couple come before the presence of God in prayers, there are certain things God expects from them that would yield them answers to their prayers. If as a couple you're not doing what you're expected to do or you go against God's instructions, your prayers may end up in vain.
1 Peter 3:7 - Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
This means there's a possibility of the prayers of a couple not to be answered due to negligence of certain things commanded by God. There are men who who not respect their wives or treat them wrongly. This is very wrong in the sight of God. A man is to love his wife just as Christ loves the church; which is us.

1 Corinthians 7:4 - The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
When a man and a woman are joined together, they lose every right they have over their own bodies. A man should be willing to give his body to the wife at any given time she demands for it. Likewise a woman should also be able to give herself to her husband whenever he's also in need of it. The same thing also goes for every other thing that they possess.
