Introduction.
Hello friends, I plan to use this post to narate to you about how my first day in the at the boarding school went. That day was a historical day in my life that I could not forget. The boarding school I attended is a seminary school and this event took place on 16th September, 1999.
Kindly read on to know all that transpired on that day.
My Journey To A Boarding School.
When my parents sold the boarding school idea to me, I enquired if I would be going to the seminary with my brother and little sister, who was barely one year at that time. They said yes, and I was happy 😊.
Because of anxiety, sleep eluded me on the night preceding my first day at the boarding school, which coincidentally was also my
Finally, the faithful day arrived, my bags packed and all.
But at some point, i discovered i was the only person who had been prepared. I continued to ask questions, but no one answered me till i had my hair cut (mum used razor to scrape my hair😍).
I had my bath and draseed on my day dress but there wasn't any sign that my brother and sister were travelling with me.. at this point, I was already getting worried.
Dad had agreed with one of our neighbours who had a 504 saloon car to drop me off at school.
At the agreed time, the man came back from work, and all my things were moved into his car. Then it was obvious I wasn't travelling with my siblings and I started crying.
I cried till we arrived at the seminary.
On arrival, my things were moved in, and Dad was busy with a few payments to get me properly registered. Our neighbour was still in the car waiting.. I could see his car from every angle. (I was still crying 😢)
At a point, Dad and a prefect encouraged me to join some other students to spring to full my bucket and gallon.
Four boys who had already settled in accompanied me as they chatted amongst themselves, but I couldn't join their conversations because they obviously knew myself from okigwe. (They attended sata Maria nursery and primary school, okigwe.)
As we were approaching from spring, i discovered our neighbour's car wasn't where it was parked. (That was when I knew things were about to get even worse)
Lo! On getting to that visitor's room area, I couldn't find my Dad.. that was when all hell broke loose. 😭😭😭😭
I can't forget that day, but we count it all joy 😊
Conclusion.
Someotherda, I would talk about my overall experience as a boader. However, I dont think I am capable of sending my child to a boarding school. It will be a very difficult decision for me.
Finally, below are pictures of my cleaning exercise for yesterday.
