¡Hola Chicos!
Hace dos días fue la clase de repostería y no puedo creer que estemos por fin a solo dos clases de terminar nuestro segundo y último nivel.
Para este clase teníamos planeado hacer una sola receta y yo me confié pensando que por ser una sola preparación, terminaríamos rápido, pero eso no fue lo que pasó...
El horno no nos ayudó, el tipo de preparación tampoco y así se nos fue toda la mañana y parte del medio día. Pero lo importante es que se lograron los objetivos y logramos la preparación de una gran receta.
Es loco porque las últimas clases han tenido mucha coincidencia con el contenido que nos han dado en el curso de panadería, inclusive siendo las mismas recetas pero con diferentes ingredientes y modos de preparación. Cosa que me parece por un lado súper porque tengo la posibilidad de comparar cual receta se adapta mejor a mis gustos.
Así que bueno volviendo al tema de mi día en el curso, desde temprano salí de casa, dejé a mi hijo en el colegio y emprendí rumbo a mi curso.

Two days ago was the baking class and I can't believe we are finally only two classes away from finishing our second and last level.
For this class we had planned to make only one recipe and I was confident thinking that because it was only one preparation, we would finish quickly, but that's not what happened....
The oven didn't help us, the type of preparation didn't help us either and so we spent the whole morning and part of the afternoon. But the important thing is that the objectives were achieved and we were able to prepare a great recipe.
It's crazy because the last classes have had a lot of coincidence with the content that we have been given in the bakery course, even being the same recipes but with different ingredients and ways of preparation. Something that I find on the one hand super because I have the possibility to compare which recipe best suits my tastes.
So back to my day at the course, I left home early in the morning, dropped my son off at school and headed to my course.
La profesora aún no había llegado, tocó esperar algunos minutos antes de comenzar la clase. Luego nos pusimos entre todas a pesar los ingredientes y a tener todo listo para comenzar con la receta.
Algo que ha pasado mucho en las últimas clases es que no hemos aprendido nada nuevo en cuanto a la repostería. Simplemente ha sido la preparación de recetas, que en su mayoría las hemos visto en clases anteriores.
Como por ejemplo en esta, que debíamos hacer una torta de chocolate (que aprendimos a hacer en el primer nivel), lo único diferente es que esta llevaba quesillo (flan de huevo) y todo se cocina al mismo tiempo.
The teacher had not yet arrived, so we had to wait a few minutes before the class started. Then we all got together to weigh the ingredients and get everything ready to start the recipe.
Something that has happened a lot in the last classes is that we have not learned anything new in terms of baking. It has simply been the preparation of recipes, most of which we have seen in previous classes.
As for example in this one, we had to make a chocolate cake (which we learned to make in the first level), the only difference is that this one had quesillo (egg custard) and everything is cooked at the same time.
La profesora solo nos dice cosas como "mezclen eso y me llaman", "ustedes ya deben saber hacer eso porque están en el nivel II", se retira a la oficina y quedamos nosotras a cargo de toda la preparación. Es algo que ya no me sorprende la verdad porque lo hemos vivido durante estos últimos meses.
The teacher only tells us things like "mix that and call me", "you should already know how to do that because you are in level II", she goes back to the office and we are left in charge of all the preparation. It is something that does not surprise me anymore because we have been living it for the last few months.
A las 9 y media ya estábamos armando las tortas y llevándolas al horno. Acá es donde comenzó nuestra larga espera.
By 9:30 we were already assembling the cakes and taking them to the oven. This is where our long wait began.
Yo aproveché esta espera para irme a comprar una empanada para el desayuno. Había comido en casa pero muy poco, y me compré esto para reponer energías y poder resistir esa larga espera.
Luego de comérmela me fui al súper a hacer unas pequeñas compras para la casa.
I took advantage of this wait to buy an empanada for breakfast. I had eaten at home but very little, and I bought this to replenish my energy and to be able to resist the long wait.
After eating it I went to the supermarket to do a little shopping for the house.
Al cabo de un rato y cuando estaban a punto de salir las tortas del horno, la profesora se sentó con nosotros a darnos las instrucciones para la siguiente clase.
Vamos a llevar nuestros propios pasteles para decorarlos. Nos darán una clase de mangas (¡por fin!) y nos explicarán un poco sobre la decoración.
Ya les iré contando luego que tal nos fue y si valió la pena la espera para por fin aprender a decorar un pastel.
Luego de que salieron del horno las tortas, nos tocó esperar un rato a que enfriaran un poco antes de desmoldar y así se hizo la 1 de la tarde.
Por suerte mi regreso a casa fue tranquilo porque el cielo estaba lleno de grandes nubes que hacían más llevadera la caminata.
Falta poco para la graduación y bueno, yo estoy feliz por estar llegando al final de este camino.
After a while and when the cakes were about to come out of the oven, the teacher sat down with us to give us the instructions for the next class.
We are going to bring our own cakes to decorate. They will give us a class on sleeves (finally!) and explain a bit about decorating.
I'll let you know later how it went and if it was worth the wait to finally learn how to decorate a cake.
After the cakes came out of the oven, we had to wait a while for them to cool a little before unmolding and so it was 1 pm.
Luckily my return home was calm because the sky was full of big clouds that made the walk more bearable.
Graduation is just around the corner and well, I'm happy to be getting to the end of this road.
