Made in Canva, based on my own photograph of my caladium in the early hours of the morning, with the phrase "New colors in the garden"

    Hello, dear hiver!❤️

    Welcome to another gardening blog!

I had endless activities pending in the garden. But before you begin, take some precautions.

I woke up with the flu, so I grabbed a mask to wear while I work in my garden. I want to prevent small dirt particles from entering my airways, otherwise I may get worse, and that's not what I want.

    My precious caladium

Next to it, there is a small plant, it is new. Mom gave it to me a few days ago, but she, she hadn't transplanted it yet.

Her pot does not have drainage, so I changed it to a similar one, but with drainage. Add a little more soil and now we have a beautiful little plant. I have wanted one of these species for a while, they are very delicate and beautiful, so it is perfect for the cover of my blog.

This time Pancho and my dog Snoopy accompanied me. They are not kind to plants yet, I have a lot to teach them.

This little one is a caladium, a plant that requires certain care, including good drainage, transplanting, as well as fertilizing it from time to time.

You may not notice it, but it is in a container within another container that contains water and another plant.

The tradescantia spathacea that I planted a few days ago

The same one I planted a few days ago, only I hadn't been able to publish. Mom also gave it to me. This is a tradescantia spathacea, I had one, and I was preparing to wait for it to expand a little. My idea is to add some color to the green tones in this part of the garden.

Coincidentally, Mom had some in excess. She waited for them to be transplanted, but it never happened. They were in water and she told me: Take them home, because they could die.

I took them, and placed my caladium inside the container. They spent approximately 2 days there. Because of my classes at the university I didn't have time to breathe, even. So, I made it a weekend project to transplant as well as do other things the garden needed.

Photo before transplanting, it has a very interesting root, and it adapts very well

I took the plants out of the container, some leaves had rotted from the time in the water, I transplanted them just in time. But, I also saw some new shoots.

It looked like a swarm of aquatic plants, I really liked it when I saw them

I began to separate them, in the process, taking some photographs. You can imagine the state of my phone screen, it ends up full of water drops, puddles, dirt, but nothing that can't be cleaned.

You will be surprised how many plants I got

When separated there were 3 floors. I set out to open a line in the field for these. Everything in the order I wanted it.

It occurred to me to plant one by one. As you will see, here are only the ones from a few days ago (the large one and a small one), plus the new plant. But, I discovered that it is better to open the hole where they will all be, hold the three plants with one hand and with the other cover the roots with the earth.

It was much easier, and it looks good.

    PECULIARITIES

Months ago I started creating environmentally friendly ways to keep my cats out of the garden. They had dominated the entire territory, so the cat feces did a lot of damage to my plants. I got it by using wooden sticks, and some small cacti.

Cut my beloved cacti, and place them in the ground. They were not planted, I just placed them in the ground. I thought they would die shortly after, drying out in the sun.

A few days ago the little cactus could be touched, its thorns were noble, although they can fool you, so I don't recommend touching them.

In this way they have very slow growth, according to what I have observed. I placed them in certain places months ago, and so far they have grown a little.

However, something happened, some of them grew. The lochitas (also known as Asiatic spark) allowed the humidity of the earth to be maintained, preventing the abrasive sun from the east of the country from annihilating them.

    Yesterday's photo

It has already grown a little, its spines are a little stronger. I will leave it right where it is, and I think that these days I will place more cactus in this area, it will add some white color thanks to its thorns.

    We continue...

Do you think it ends? Well no, there is a lot to do.

I have cats, they play sometimes and when they run into the plants, some break. Just what happened with my dragon flower. I saw my cat fall near her after jumping. Until now I see what happened, it was a small movement, but, this plant is delicate.

This one had a small break, one of its cuttings also broke.

Finish splitting the stem. More will come from the one on earth, and from this new one too. So these small accidents have their benefits, because they can generate many more plants. In this very rudimentary way I have managed to reproduce it and have many plants of this species.

    There are good news

Not only did I plant this stem, but also this week the flowering began. Those burgundy-colored flowers with impressive texture have started to emerge. I've loved this moment since I discovered it last year, and now I'm looking forward to it.

But... Do you remember that she was sick?

In previous posts I told you that some of her parts were yellow, she had a bad appearance.

You solve it by cutting the affected pieces. For now, it's fine, I hope it continues to work out.

To finish in the garden we need a little more.

I also had to change the soil of my beautiful at eleven orange color. They have flourished and given me the best of them. It's been a year now, so the plant is starting to die.

I made the decision to prune it. I hadn't seen results, and I said: I lost the flowers!.

Until I saw little sprouts, there is hope! So I must take advantage of it.

They turned out like this, don't be scared, it's part of the job. I trust they will look better soon.

I finished with one of them, now only the other container was missing. This contains several colors. I just took a stem of each and placed them there, I thought it was interesting.

Shall we finish? Yes, that was all for today, but, before I show you some results, look at this, low handles, I can hold them in my hand easily. This season I have loved this branch that is above the garden.

This is how the garden looks. I hope to add more changes soon, wish me luck.

The cats, including this beautiful one who accompanied me from his chair resting, my dog, my garden and I said goodbye and wished you a good day.
