This post kinda follows on from the one I wrote a couple of weeks ago. In it I mentioned about the release of the Alpha Vials, and that although I immediately purchased 2 of them, I really wanted more!
There was then a follow-up post where I initiated a powerdown to purchase some more Vials, and that I decided to let that powerdown run for a 2nd week, in order to gain more Hive to buy some more Vials.
Today marks the end of that 2nd week, and the powerdown released 304.418 of Hive:
Which in turn, gives me a total of 377.215 Hive, so that I can now head to the Holozing shop
It also means I am now ready to stop the 13 week Powerdown, as in these 2 weeks I have released (unstaked) enough Hive so I can get my hands on those Vials

After over 4 years of slow, continuous and almost relentless growth, those 2 red bars showing the 2 powerdowns look so distasteful!
Yes I know, we should be able to powerdown whenever we like to use Hive as we deem necessary, and this needs to happen in order to actually use the token instead of just staking it all the time, but 4 years of this habit is hard to break!
And there is of course a reason for this.... buying more Vials!
You can see the price in HP has changed drastically in the past 2 weeks, and that is of course due to the price increase... we are apparently in a potential Bull Run (initiated of course by Bitcoin), and this activity has trickled down in turn to the various alts
This means that the Hive Price has changed from 0.195 USD, to 0.247 USD
This in turn has changed the single unit price for a Vial from 105 Hive last week to approx 81 Hive today.
And this means I can get more Vials for my money (whoop whoop!)
377 liquid Hive gets me 4 Vials at a total of 323 Hive, and still leaves me 59 Hive to go towards the next vial.
Those 4 plus the previous 5 I already own, gives me a grand total of 9 (and I think I'm gonna save up to get 10 in total, I think thats a nice round number for now!)
The game still isn't 'live' yet, but those Vials are going to contribute to collection rewards, which will help me build up the amount of Zing tokens I own. The Vials I've previously collected have already given me a boost in the rankings, enabling me to move up from #152 2 weeks ago, up to #142 as of today.
I know the rankings don't mean a great deal other than measuring how much Zing I have collected, but it still nice to see numbers going up, and ranking improving
Now that I have stopped the powerdown, I can now get back to build my HP up again, I'm currently heading towards a goal of 25,000 in HP, and am now back on track after a brief diversion with Alpha Vials.
I will still buy Vials as and when I can, but this will be with any spare HBD that comes available from post rewards, of which this post will surely contribute to that!
