Get Rich By All Means? NO!!!

Hello beautiful people! Welcome back to my space.

There has been a lot of things happening around me recently, and I am beginning to wonder where we are heading to, or rather what is really happening to this generation?

It is no longer news (at least in my country) that inflation is on a very high level. The prices of things have increased by almost 50% between 1st December, 2023 and 1st February 2024 (I am trying to be modest here). Take 50kg rice, for instance, which I personally bought at 50,000 NGN is being sold in the market for 70,000 NGN (well, yesterday's price actually).

I used a bag of rice as an example above because for a long time we have always considered rice to be the cheapest food item that people can afford here. Right now however, I don't think we can consider it cheap anymore.

Another thing we are dealing with right now is the price of petrol ( I know some of you call it gasoline). It has become an essential 'commodity', not only vehicle owners, but for almost every family as it is what most people depend on to generate electricity so they could at least charge their phones.

Coming to the education sector, there is no school that did not increase their tuition fees this session. In different universities, the Students' Union Government had to engage in negotiations with the school authorities to reach a compromise. Even with the agreement, many parents and guardians are finding it difficult to continue keeping their children and wards in school. I know because my first child is in her final year, and I just got money to pay her tuition last week. The second one is about starting her 100level registration, and I and hubby are doing our best to make sure the money is ready before the payment portal opens. Guess what follows? A lot of kids are may likely be dropping out of school.

What is paining me right now is that many people are suffering. And what is paining me more is that the whole situation is causing a ripple effect.

The level of crime is increasing. More and more young people are choosing to do all the wrong things so they can stay above the situation. Many are involved in a lot of fraudulent activities... The vices are just on high increase. This is a very disturbing situation, especially when a lot of adults have already compromised their standards and values. What can one then do about the younger generation?

This is sad and painful. Unfortunately, not everyone will agree that something has to be done to help the young ones understand that even the economic situation is not an excuse to engage in criminal and fraudulent activities because they want to get rich by all means.

It doesn't have to be this way. There are still ways to make money honestly. An example is blogging on the Hive blockchain. I just recently helped my two children I mentioned above to sign up on Hive. I intend to bring in the other two younger ones as soon as they are through with the exams they are preparing to sit for.

Also creating digital products and offering services online is something I advocate for. Again, there are job opportunities offline that can help someone get money.

The younger generation need to be told this truth, or else we have no future to look forward to.
