La naturaleza es preciosa, majestuosa así como también cruel donde la vida se hace paso en medio de condiciones adversas, inclusive letales, inimaginables para las comodidades de vida del ser humano actual donde no solo el medio ambiente es complejo para vivir, también esta rodeado de depredadores los cuales son parte del ciclo en la transformación de la vida, uno de los lugares mas inclementes en el planeta es El Desierto del Kalahari en África.
Este lugar será el espectador junto a nosotros de una familia de Suricatos y su protagonista llamado Kolo, un pequeño amiguito que vivirá una serie de aventuras las cuales junto al desierto, podremos ser espectadores en esta película documental llamada The Meerkats, una producción de La BBC Films desarrollada en el 2008.
Muchos son fans de estas historias de Suricatas, no solo son entretenidas, también ofrecen conocimiento y de hecho esta es su principal intención, en este caso nos da detalles sobre la vida en el desierto, el estilo de vida de distintas especies y su interacción con los protagonistas de la película, Los Suricatas.
Nature is beautiful, majestic as well as cruel where life makes its way through adverse conditions, even lethal, unimaginable for the comforts of life of today's human being where not only the environment is complex to live, it is also surrounded by predators which are part of the cycle in the transformation of life, one of the most inclement places on the planet is the Kalahari Desert in Africa.
This place will be the spectator along with us of a family of Meerkats and its protagonist named Kolo, a little friend who will live a series of adventures which together with the desert, we can be spectators in this documentary film called The Meerkats, a BBC Films production developed in 2008.
Many are fans of these Meerkat stories, they are not only entertaining, they also offer knowledge and in fact this is their main intention, in this case it gives us details about life in the desert, the lifestyle of different species and their interaction with the protagonists of the film, the Meerkats.
Esta reseña la planteare desde tres puntos de vista que son los que considere relevantes y son los siguientes:
- Drama Argumental:
Me ha encantado la estructura familiar del argumento que presenta, vemos la historia desde los ojos llenos de ternura en Kolo, un Suricato recién nacido que nos mostrará todas sus aventuras los cuales incluyen momentos de supervivencia, alegría, metas y tristeza.
Los momentos de Supervivencia son los que me generaron mayor sobresalto, me impacto ver a Kolo luchar contra variados depredadores que muchas especies temen como escorpiones, serpientes pero resulta que ellos pueden combatir desde su lucha ancestral contra ellos, de hecho Los Suricatas son primos de la Mangosta el cual es un animal que por naturaleza puede vencer a las serpientes.
Estos pequeños amiguitos de un tamaño poco mayor al de una ardilla son guerreros que pueden defenderse ante los depredadores que mencione pero su mayor enemigo esta en el aire, Las Águilas generaran el momento de mayor tristeza en la película, uno que me llego al corazón porque para ellos la clave de sobrevivencia es el equipo, es la familia y cuando se pierde a uno de estos en batalla, la manera en que se presenta impacta, generara tristeza en el espectador si es del tipo de persona que tiene empatía por los animales.
I will approach this review from three points of view that I consider relevant and they are the following:
- Plot Drama:
I loved the familiar structure of the plot it presents, we see the story from the eyes full of tenderness in Kolo, a newborn Meerkat that will show us all his adventures which include moments of survival, joy, goals and sadness.
The Survival moments are the ones that startled me the most, I was shocked to see Kolo fight against various predators that many species fear such as scorpions, snakes but it turns out that they can fight from their ancestral struggle against them, in fact the Meerkats are cousins of the Mongoose which is an animal that by nature can defeat snakes.
These little friends of a little bigger than a squirrel are warriors who can defend themselves against the predators I mentioned but their biggest enemy is in the air, The Eagles will generate the saddest moment in the film, one that touched my heart because for them the key to survival is the team, is the family and when one of these is lost in battle, the way it is presented impacts, will generate sadness in the viewer if you are the type of person who has empathy for animals.
- Escenarios y Música:
Lo mejor de este tipo de películas documental es la secuencia de escenas reales, de hecho admiro la paciencia y la valentía del trabajo en cámara porque el lugar de trabajo es el desierto, todos los peligros de ese entorno los enfrentan ellos y con amor al arte colocan las cámaras en sitios que me dejan alucinando.
Los Suricatos cavan túneles y en estos duermen y desarrollan gran parte de su vida diaria, las cámaras están puestas allí y a medida que se narra la historia, el trabajo edición hace magia para unir todo y establecer una secuencia que hile la historia de la cual ya hable y que me encanto.
Hay un momento con cámara quieta, inmóvil y simplemente se acelera la velocidad para contemplar como el clima del lugar cambia, esa escena es una pasada para mi.
- El Narrador:
En este tipo de trabajos es fundamental el narrador, la historia en este caso es narrada por Paul Newman el cual a mi parecer no cumple con la labor porque su voz no me parece la idónea para narrar esta aventura, este es el elemento que quiero criticar, de hecho intente escuchar la versión doblada al español la cual tampoco me convenció porque ninguna me transmite los sentimientos al máximo de lo que estoy viendo.
- Scenery and Music:
The best thing about this type of documentary film is the sequence of real scenes, in fact I admire the patience and courage of the camera work because the work place is the desert, all the dangers of that environment are faced by them and with love of art they place the cameras in places that leave me hallucinating.
The Suricatos dig tunnels and in these they sleep and develop much of their daily life, the cameras are placed there and as the story is told, the editing works magic to unite everything and establish a sequence that spins the story of which I already spoke and which I loved.
There is a moment with still camera, motionless and simply speed up the speed to contemplate how the weather of the place changes, that scene is a blast for me.
- The Narrator:
In this type of work is essential the narrator, the story in this case is narrated by Paul Newman which in my opinion does not meet the work because his voice does not seem to me the ideal to narrate this adventure, this is the element that I want to criticize, in fact try to listen to the Spanish dubbed version which also did not convince me because none transmits me the feelings to the maximum of what I'm seeing.
De pequeño miraba junto a mi papa muchos canales de animalitos como Animal Planet entre otros, veía y aprendía el modo de vida en muchos de ellos en distintos entornos como selvas, océanos, el desierto, etc, mi papa colocaba esos canales y disfrutaba de estos capítulos cuya trama es dominada generalmente por escenarios y música tranquilos, recuerdo que se dormía, en mi caso seguía mirando, apreciaba enormemente estas aventuras y son muchas las que vi de Suricatos.
Aun hoy vuelvo a ver sus aventuras como en esta película y me siguen hipnotizando con su forma tan tierna de levantarse y mirar de un lado a otro atentos al peligro, evitando al máximo los depredadores mientras tienen contados momentos de paz donde disfrutan el estar junto a los demás miembros de su familia latiendo como un solo corazón.
Dedicado todos y cada uno de mis post y videos a mi perrita llamada princesa que la llamábamos chiquito que ya no está con nosotros pero desde el cielo verá que su existencia SI fue valiosa y lo más hermoso que existirá en mi corazón y alma.
As a child I watched with my dad many animal channels like Animal Planet among others, I watched and learned the way of life in many of them in different environments such as jungles, oceans, desert, etc, my dad put those channels and enjoyed these chapters whose plot is generally dominated by quiet scenes and music, I remember that he fell asleep, in my case I kept watching, I greatly appreciated these adventures and there are many that I saw of Meerkats.
Even today I still watch their adventures as in this movie and they continue to hypnotize me with their tender way of getting up and looking from one side to the other attentive to danger, avoiding predators as much as possible while they have a few moments of peace where they enjoy being together with the other members of their family beating as one heart.
