Goodbye, DHEDGE

This is more of a mini-rant than a farewell post. It's also a compare and contrast post, more than a farewell post. It's also more of an out loud musing than a farwell post. It's a little of everything, really.

    The Rant
DHEDGE has been largely consistent and reliable overall, but the lack of communication from Taskmanager is frustrating. Sure, this isn’t a full time job for him, but a group of volunteers couldn't be formed to help share the burden and keep things running smoothly? I get that systems go down. HiveSQL getting hacked is proof of how the unexpected can throw things into chaos, but you adapt and overcome.

    Compare and Contrast
A lot of us thought HiveSQL would be back up in a week. When that didn't happen, some mobilized. Thanks to themarkymark and Raymondspeaks, BRO kept going. LGN kept going. DAB and EDS took some workarounds but silverstackeruk got things back up and running.

What did we get with DHEDGE? Radio silence. You can't blame the large delegators for pulling their support with no communication and nothing to show for their delegations.

    Farewell
Things got back up and running, but then the tipping bot went down. It's nice to be able to tip users and encourage their posts with more than just an upvote. The tipping bot went down for a week. More radio silence. Last I looked it's back up, but I've moved on. I've unstaked my DVS, sold all but 500 of my DHEDGE so I can occasionally tip if the bot is working, and I'm moving on to other projects with better communication.

    Musings
I suppose most good things come to an end eventually. Some projects, like BRO and LGN, are better positioned for success than projects like DHEDGE. There are redundancies, there's timely communication, transparency, and a succession plan.

While even the best of plans can fail, I'll place my bets on a better laid plan, communication and the mental fortitude necessary to survive even the harshest of bear markets, and the will to keep going and succeed into this crypto bull market we're just starting. Whichever projects or investments you choose, I wish you success! See you on the other side of this bull market!
