Nathan and Godfrey were lying together on the ground covered in blood. Their faces were facing each other and they put their hands on each other's cheeks.
Flashback
The one eyed lord was lying on his bed, cold drops of sweat covered his face and he was breathing short and raggedly. Nathan was sitting next to the bed, looking at him with a worried face.
"Master!"
The one eyed lord blinked and answered in a weak voice:
"What happened?"
Nathan leaned forward slightly.
"Please give me some of your blood. That way I will become powerful and I can defeat Godfrey and bring you Aaron."
"But if you drink my blood, you won't live long."
Tears gathered in Nathan's eyes.
"After killing Godfrey I will have no reason to live."
"So if you are sure of your decision, do it. Take out your knife, rip my wrist and drink my blood."
And then he took his hand towards Nathan. Nathan took a knife out of his coat pocket and ran it across the soft pale wrist of the one eyed lord. Red blood flowed from the wound and Nathan placed his mouth on it and began to drink.
Aaron, Godfrey, Petrus and Levi were all gathered in a room in the Raven's Wing organization.
Levi:
"After examining Aaron's body and soul, I confirmed that he is Matthew's child. Our guess was correct. The one eyed lord is Matthew."
Aaron:
"Levi, you said Matthew was your loyal friend. Why has he become your enemy now?"
Levi:
"Because after my death I colluded with the monks and formed the Raven's Wing organization. In his opinion, this was a great betrayal."
Petrus:
"The minions of the one eyed Lord will definitely attack the organization soon. Aaron must immediately activate his magical powers and learn how to use them."
Levi:
"You get busy organizing the troops. I'll take care of Aaron. Aaron, follow me."
Levi and Aaron left the room together. Petrus glanced at the troubled face of Godfrey, who was deep in thought.
"Godfrey, how are you?"
"I am fine."
Petrus went to him.
"But it doesn't seem that way. I wish I hadn't sent Rosalie on the mission and she was by your side now."
"She had to go."
"Godfrey, I want you to leave the organization, go somewhere far away and not come back until Aaron's case is over."
Godfrey was shocked.
"But now we are in a critical situation and my presence is necessary. Why do you want such a thing from me?"
"I'm worried about Nathan. I think he has a deep grudge against you and is bound to do something terrible."
"No, he doesn't. How could he possibly want to hurt me? I can't even imagine."
"Don't underestimate the hatred caused by love. Nathan is in a position where nothing is impossible for him."
Godfrey smiled.
"He won't hurt me. I'm sure of that."
Petrus' face was contorted with worry.
"Listen to me and get out of here."
"I can't. I'm afraid if I go, Nathan will get hurt in the upcoming battle."
"Neither of us will hurt him, I promise."
"He might put you in a situation where you have no choice but to hurt him. So I must stay to protect him if that happens."
The end of the flashback
Godfrey said in a hoarse voice as blood gushed from his mouth.
"I'm sorry… for breaking your heart."
Tears gathered in Nathan's eyes.
"Be indebted to me in your next life."
And then they both closed their eyes, forever.
