Anime Review and Recommendation: The Rising Of The Shield Hero

Watching anime is one of the best parts of my life, and Netflix has just made that easier. I recently discovered that there is a section for anime on Netflix, but you can't get all the anime you want, and your location matters a lot too, but that's not what I want to share with you today. Today I will be sharing with you one anime I discovered recently. The last review I wrote about was about the "Tsukimchi: Moonlight Fantasy. Anime review." The MC of this anime was overpowered without knowing how powerful he was, so most time he of the runs from fights, but today's review will tell you how the world of anime works because the MC we are about to discuss is the total opposite of the previous MC. I would like to share my thoughts with you all.

The name of this anime is "The Rising of The Shield Hero."

One thing you should be able to pick from the anime title is that the hero is a rising hero, meaning he has to do what a hero does to gain recognition, and when heroes are mentioned in anime, this has to come to mind: it's an Isekai anime.

    Storyline:

The Rising of the Shield Hero follows the story of Naofumi Iwatani, a young man who is summoned to a parallel world along with three other heroes from different dimensions. The four heroes are tasked with saving the world from monsters that come in waves. However, Naofumi is falsely accused of a crime he didn't commit and is shunned by the people and the other heroes. The life of Naofumi started off awfully because people tagged the shield hero as a useless hero while praising the spear, sword, and arrow hero as the best hero. Even at his misfortune, the first companion he had accused him of raping her, which led to people resenting him in the village and town, and this made him lost faith in people and also develop trust issues, but these events didn't make him lose himself totally. It led to a journey of self-discovery, growth, and redemption. He starts off by saving a demi-human, who was bonded to him as his slave, then saves a town, and the adventure continues.

The storyline is engaging and well-paced, with a mix of action, adventure, and fantasy elements. The world-building is also impressive, with a richly detailed and immersive environment. The show explores themes of prejudice, betrayal, and the consequences of one's actions, making it a thought-provoking and emotionally resonant watch.

    Main Character (MC):

    My Thoughts:

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed "The Rising of the Shield Hero." The show's unique take on the isekai genre, combined with its engaging storyline, well-developed characters, and impressive world-building, making it a standout anime. The anime theme is a combination of trust, redemption, determination, betrayal, action, and many more.

    Rating:

I would give "The Rising of the Shield Hero" a solid 8/10. The show's only drawbacks are some unnecessary conversation and also the lack of taijutsu, hand-to-hand combat. Making the Mc look pathetic at some point, but in the end there was a significant development, and the show went great.

    Recommendation:

If you enjoy fantasy anime with complex characters, engaging storylines, and impressive world-building, then "The Rising of the Shield Hero" is an absolute must-watch. Even if you're not typically a fan of Isekai anime, this show will make you love Isekai.

    Thanks for reading.
