The day unfolded in a quiet, almost surreal calm. The air was crisp, with the temperature hovering just below five degrees, accompanied by a high humidity that somehow avoided feeling sticky. There wasn’t a breath of wind, which made the cold feel more bearable, almost comfortable. The sky hung low in a bright, structured shade of gray, offering a soft, steady light as I cycled to Jungfernheidepark. I wandered through its serene paths, pausing to do some breathing exercises and meditate, soaking in the stillness around me. It was peaceful, with only the sound of my footsteps and the occasional rustle of leaves. The only splash of boldness in this tranquil scene was a man who decided to swim in the chilly waters of the park’s small lake. I couldn’t help but admire his courage, though I knew I wouldn’t have been brave enough to plunge into that cold pool making ripples in the morning.
