Saturday: Visiting Aunt for lunch and an evening at the playground

in voilk •  4 months ago

One month ago, my Aunt fell down at kitchen after she got imbalance when stood up from squatting position. It got me really concerned, although she assured me she was alright. Really thank God she didn't bang her hand while fell down, just hit her foot on a chair. So, no matter what, I wanted to see her every Saturday.

When I arrived, we took some time to walk to nearby bank to help her withdraw money. Currently, she also felt more safe to go to bank with someone else.

    Saturday's Lunch at Aunt's

She said it had been awhile she cooked three dishes so let it be this week. Look at what she had cooked for us!

    Her signature Chicken Breast Nugget

Her nuggets were no nuggets-sized at all. She literally used the whole chicken breast, slice it thinner, marinated with salt and pepper, coated with thin layer of egg and bread crumbs and lightly pan fried. We all super duper loved this dish. Thank you, Taiku (that's how we called her in Kantonis).

    Pan fried prawns

She said she saw fresh prawns and God is good that she continued to receive help from government, so she wanted to reward herself and me too for always helping her. So delicious pan fried prawns to celebrate God's goodness.

Braised pork slices with carrots and gourd

This one was similar to Hakka dish where the meat and vegetables were braised together, then seasoned with oyster sauce, sesame oil and soy sauce. The basic ginger garlic oil oomph-up the whole dish.

We chitchatted a lot because I was not in a hurry as I had done my tuition class replacement in the morning. Felt nice to hear from her eventhough she could share the same story again and again. I just wanted to savour all the precious moment with her.
