Snow Snow Snow!!
I have had the opportunity to live in Sweden for the past five years, and it has been a remarkable experience. During this time, I have engaged in the routine task of shoveling snow, a common practice among the locals who demonstrate admirable patience while navigating the challenges of winter. It’s noteworthy how the Scandinavian people embody resilience and determination, even as they adapt to the long stretches of snowy weather that can last from November to April.
Life in this winter wonderland feels quite normal here, and the contrast between the snow-covered months and the six months of milder weather from May to October is striking. The summers, while short—lasting from June through August—offer a welcome respite, although by September, temperatures tend to dip again.
Reflecting on my experiences, I often revisit photographs taken in February, recalling the intense cold, with temperatures reaching as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius. Surrounded by such beautiful natural landscapes, I find myself feeling a sense of nostalgia and hope that I may have the opportunity to return and experience the charm of Sweden once more in the future. It is a country that has truly made an impression on me.
今から４年間、スウェーデンに住んでいました。そこでは雪掻きを毎日する必要があって、雪との戦い中でスウェーデン人が忍耐強く生活していました。北欧人は忍耐強く、辛抱強く、堅実な人達です。白銀の世界は11月から4月まで続きます。長い間は雪に包まれた生活が北欧では普通で、5月から10月の間の半年は雪のない生活です。夏は短く、6月から8月で、9月は肌寒いです。写真は2月だったのですが、気温はマイナス20度にもなるほど厳しい寒さでした。そのなかにも美しい自然に囲まれていて、またいつか訪れてみたいなと懐かしい思いで写真を見ていました。
