Unfortunately yesterday I learned of the passing of the great master Akira Toriyama, cartoonist and creator of the beautiful Dragon Ball saga, an anime that accompanied me in my adolescence and which I still cherish with great affection in my heart. If you have read the manga or seen the anime, you will certainly have become fond of the adventures of Goku and his friends.

I remember well, when I attended school (about 30 years ago), when I returned home, the TV was already tuned to the anime channel, the DB episode would start shortly thereafter. I loved the first series, in my opinion the most compelling, and I patiently watched the second series (over 350 episodes), but despite everything it is still a masterpiece by the master.

I will never be able to forget the hours spent with my friends to discuss every single episode, at the time we didn't have smartphones so in the afternoon, after studying, we met for the classic session and discussed the possible evolutions of the characters. Ah, what carefree times.

For all this I must thank the master Akira Toriyama for all these moments of joy, strong emotions and great interest. Akira Toriyama's characters and stories have inspired, among other things, masterpieces such as One Piece by Oda and Naruto by Kishimoto. A great disappointment that has undoubtedly left a void in the world of manga! These days I'm considering purchasing the entire manga series, as a child I had a few sporadic copies but I've always preferred the anime due to a mere question of laziness.

Hi sensei Akira Toriyama, thank you for making millions of children and adults dream with your wonderful stories!

Purtroppo ieri ho appreso della scomparsa del grande maestro Akira Toriyama, fumettista e creatore della bellissima saga di Dragon Ball un anime che mi ha accompagnato nella mia adolescenza e che tutt'ora custodisco con grande affetto nel mio cuore. Se hai letto il manga o visto l'anime, di certo ti sarai affezionato alle avventure di Goku e dei suoi amici.

Ricordo bene, quando frequentavo la scuola (circa 30 anni fa), al rientro a casa, la TV era già sintonizzata sul canale degli anime, di lì a poco sarebbe iniziata la puntata di DB. Ho amato la prima serie, a mio avviso la più avvincente, e ho visto pazientemente la seconda serie (oltre 350 episodi), ma nonostante tutto è sempre un capolav del maestro.

Non potrò mai dimenticare le ore trascorsi con i miei amici per discutere ogni singolo episodio, all'epoca non avevamo gli smartphone per cui il pomeriggio, dopo lo studio, c'incontravamo per l'uscita classica e ci confrontavamo sulle possibili evoluzioni dei personaggi. Ah che tempi spensierati.

Di tutto ciò io devo ringraziare il maestro Akira Toriyama per tutti questi momenti di gioia, di forti emozioni e grande interesse. I personaggi e le storie di Akira Toriyama hanno ispirato tra l'altro capolavori come One Piece di Oda e Naruto di Kishimoto. Un grande dispiacere che ha lasciato senza dubbio un vuoto nel mondo dei manga! Sto valutando in questi giorni di acquistare anche l'intera serie manga, da piccolo ne avevo qualche copia sporadica ma ho sempre preferito l'anime per una mera questione di pigrizia.
