Mi introducción a HIVE: Soy Anto @antonellacol

Hola comunidad HIVE, soy Antonella, tengo 20 años, y vivo en Barquisimeto. A lo largo de mi vida me he mudado tantas veces que me cuesta contar, estuve en dos escuelas primarias, tres secundarias y dos universidades por los momentos.

Soy de Barquisimeto, pero a la vez de muchos otros lugares. Nací en Cabudare, una pequeña ciudad cercana a Barquisimeto, en donde vivía mi abuelo paterno y en cuya casa pase muchos fines de semana frente al televisor viendo bob esponja.

A los cuatro años, me fui a vivir a Valencia, estando ahí me mude tres veces, pero, lo que hace especial a esta Ciudad, es que fue donde mi mamá adoptó a chiqui, mi primer perro, más que una mascota un miembro importantisimo de mi familia. Chiqui fue abandonado por el vecino, su antiguo dueño, y entonces decidimos adodtarlo. Murió el año pasado, con 16 años, rodeado de su familia y su mejor (y unico) amigo Kyoto.

Después de vivir en Valencia, nos mudamos a Caracas, donde crecí y viví durante más o menos doce años, la mayor parte de ese tiempo en un pequeño departamento en el centro, y más adelante en el este de la ciudad. Cuando pensé que ya nada podia cambiar, sufrí el fallecimiento de alguien cercano. A partir de ese momento, hubo muchos cambios, tantos buenos, como malos, en ese tiempo me fui a vivir al Estado Trujillo, con un nuevo integrante en la familia, Kyoto. Kyoto lo adoptó mi mamá gracias a una publicación de instagram, donde le buscaban hogar a un perrito callejero. Paso de tener sarna, muy poco peso y ser un perro muy temeroso, a ser feliz y gordito.

En ese tiempo vivi en la casa de mi abuela materna, en un lugar muy lindo llamado Santa Ana, un pueblo alejado entre las montañas, con un clima frio y rodeado de paramos, volví a encontrarme con familiares que no veía hace años, y conocí a otros. Ahí pase una navidad y año nuevo, y conocí lugares como Burbusay, que solo había escuchado en anécdotas de mi mamá.

Y después de tantas vueltas y mudanzas, a parte de las que ya mencioné, como cosa rara volví a Barquisimeto. Llevo seis meses viviendo aquí, cuando me preguntan ¿que elegiría entre Barquisimeto y Caracas?, no se que contestar, ya que me gusta vivir aquí y se podría decir que me la he pasado bien. No se si volveré pronto a Caracas.

Con respecto a lo que me dedico o me gusta hacer; estudio, o estudiaba, arquitectura, por los momentos estoy en pausa. Suelo hablar de una forma de mi carrera que siempre dejo la impresión de que no me gusta, pero, al contrario guardo con cariño cada proyecto o ensayo que llegue a hacer, espero pronto hacer posts sobre el tema. En la carrera conocí profesores que te daban diferentes perspectivas de la arquitectura, que no se conocen hasta que entras a estudiar arquitectura. Tuve el privilegio de aprender sobre la arquitectura de Tadao Ando, se la recomendaría a cualquiera que me preguntara sobre cualquier arquitecto.

Cuando empecé a estudiar arquitectura fue para mi muy difícil, el cambio de liceo a universidad, y la exigencia de la misma, siempre terminada trasnochando para poder completar proyectos, era difícil tener tantas tareas de diferentes materias para el mismo días, llegaba al punto de estar tan cansada y enferma. Cuando termine el primer semestre reprobé varias asignaturas, algo que nunca me había pasado en secundaria pensar que tanto esfuerzo no había servido para nada y que otros compañeros les había ido mejor que a mi, me daba mucho malestar.

Para poder seguir adelante tuve que cambiar el enfoque, mi consejo para que cualquiera que empiece a estudiar esta carrera sería que una tarea que no entregues, una materia que repruebes, o cualquier cosa que no salga como quieres no significa que todo esta perdido, y siempre va haber personas que parezca que le va mejor que tu. No se puede sobreponer una entrega de proyecto por encima de la salud. Me gusta mucho esta carrera, no se si en algún momento la cambiaré, simplemente la carrera de arquitectura exige llevar un ritmo acelerado, y yo soy una persona naturalmente lenta.

Desde niña tuve gusto para la lectura, sin embargo, en mi casa solo habían libros escolares y de auto-ayuda. Mi mamá emocionada me compro mi primer libro "la iliada", cualquiera que lo haya leído sabe que no es nada entretenido para alguien de diez años, así que estuvo acumulando polvo durante años. Ya en la adolescencia leía en formato digital, y se definió mi gusto por las novelas de ficción. Viviendo en la casa de mi abuelo, pude disfrutar de muchas novelas que se hicieron mis favoritas, entre ellas "cien años de soledad", de la que planeo hablar por aquí, aprovechando el estreno de la adaptación a serie. Me gustan los libros de autores como Agatha Christie y Edgar Allan Poe, que son novelas de misterio y de estilo policial, y la saga de libros de Outlander de Diana Gabaldon.

Desde niña se me daba muy bien dibujar, y todavía actualmente, pero nunca he sido lo suficiente disciplinada para practicar lo suficiente y que pueda llegar a serme útil. Cuando empecé a estudiar arquitectura pensé que me daría ventaja en algo, pero sinceramente no. También me ha gustado hacer manualidades como tejer a crochet, o confeccionar ropa. Pero son simplemente hobbit, nunca he sido muy dedicada en ese tipo de cosas, ya que suelo dejar las cosas a medias.

Me gusta la repostería, de hecho tuve un emprendimiento de ello, pero no me fue muy bien, nada bien. Igualmente lo deje de pasatiempo, y disfruto que los demás prueben lo que hago. Hace poco hice galletas con chispas de chocolate y mantequilla de maní, la probaron varios amigos y les gustaron bastante, y me dijeron que podría empezar a venderlas, no se si me animaría.

Me gusta ver peliculas, mis favoritas son del Studio Ghibli, mi top 3 seria; “El increíble castillo vagabundo”, “El viaje de Chihiro” y “Se levanta el viento”. También me gustan las películas de Christopher Nolan y romcoms como "10 Things I Hate About You".

Últimamente viajo mucho al tocuyo, voy a visitar a mi abuela paterna y a mi familia, la otra vez fui a un rio, y a una represa. Me gusta ir a la playa, aunque llevo más de un año sin ir. Espero compartirle por aquí un próximo viaje.

Conocí HIVE gracias a dos nuevos amigos @eliigonzalez, @wbrandt y @eliudgnzlz desde hace un tiempo me han hablado mucho de esta comunidad, sus beneficios y oportunidades. Me siento alegre de por fin empezar, espero hacer diferente tipo de contenido, como vlogs, experiencia y review de libros. Gracias por leer mi introducción de un poco de lo que soy, y espero escribir más por aquí. Me suelen decir que hablo mucho, pero sinceramente me costó mucho escribir todo esto.❤️

Hello, HIVE community! My name is Antonella, I’m 20 years old, and I live in Barquisimeto. Throughout my life, I’ve moved so many times I’ve lost count. I attended two primary schools, three high schools, and, so far, two universities.

I’m from Barquisimeto, but at the same time, I belong to many other places. I was born in Cabudare, a small city near Barquisimeto where my paternal grandfather lived. I spent many weekends at his house, sitting in front of the TV watching SpongeBob SquarePants.

When I was four years old, I moved to Valencia. During my time there, I moved houses three times. But what makes this city special is that it’s where my mom adopted Chiqui, my first dog, who became an essential member of our family. Chiqui was abandoned by a neighbor, his former owner, so we decided to take him in. He passed away last year at the age of 16, surrounded by family and his best (and only) friend, Kyoto.

After Valencia, we moved to Caracas, where I grew up and lived for about twelve years. Most of that time was spent in a small apartment in the city center, and later in the eastern part of the city. When I thought nothing could change, I experienced the loss of someone close to me. From that moment on, there were many changes—both good and bad. During that time, I moved to Trujillo State, bringing a new family member with me, Kyoto. My mom adopted Kyoto after seeing an Instagram post about a stray dog needing a home. He went from being underweight and fearful, with mange, to being happy and chubby.

During that time, I lived in my maternal grandmother’s house in a beautiful place called Santa Ana, a remote mountain town with a cool climate surrounded by páramos. I reconnected with relatives I hadn’t seen in years and met others for the first time. I spent Christmas and New Year’s there and visited places like Burbusay, which I’d only heard about in my mom’s stories.

After so many moves, including the ones I already mentioned, I ended up back in Barquisimeto. I’ve been living here for six months. When people ask me to choose between Barquisimeto and Caracas, I don’t know what to say because I enjoy living here and have had a good time. I’m not sure if I’ll return to Caracas anytime soon.

I used to study architecture, although I’m currently on a break. People often think I don’t like my major because of how I talk about it, but I actually cherish every project or essay I worked on. I hope to write posts about it soon. My professors gave me new perspectives on architecture, ones you don’t encounter until you study it. I had the privilege of learning about Tadao Ando’s work and would recommend it to anyone interested in architecture.

Studying architecture was tough for me. The transition from high school to university and its demands were overwhelming. I often stayed up all night to complete projects, juggling multiple deadlines. By the end of the first semester, I had failed several courses—something that had never happened to me in high school. It was disheartening to see my hard work amount to nothing while others seemed to do better.

To move forward, I had to change my mindset. My advice to anyone starting this major is that one missed assignment, failed course, or unexpected setback doesn’t mean everything is lost. Your health should never come second to a project. Although architecture demands a fast-paced rhythm, I’m naturally slow.

Since I was a child, I’ve loved reading. However, in my house, there were only school and self-help books. My mom, excited, bought me my first book, The Iliad. Anyone who’s read it knows it’s not entertaining for a ten-year-old, so it gathered dust for years. As a teenager, I started reading digitally, and my taste for fiction novels became clear. While living at my grandfather’s house, I enjoyed many novels that became my favorites, including One Hundred Years of Solitude, which I plan to write about here, especially with the upcoming series adaptation. I also enjoy mystery novels by authors like Agatha Christie and Edgar Allan Poe and Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series.

I’ve always been good at drawing, but I’ve never been disciplined enough to practice consistently to make it useful. When I started studying architecture, I thought it would give me an advantage, but honestly, it didn’t. I’ve also enjoyed crafts like crocheting and sewing clothes. However, these remain hobbies, as I often leave things unfinished.

I like baking, and I even started a small business around it, but it didn’t go well. Now, it’s just a pastime, and I enjoy having others taste what I make. Recently, I baked chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies, and my friends loved them. They even suggested I sell them, but I’m unsure if I’d pursue that.

I love watching movies. My favorites are from Studio Ghibli, with my top three being Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and The Wind Rises. I also enjoy Christopher Nolan’s films and romantic comedies like 10 Things I Hate About You.

Recently, I’ve been traveling a lot to El Tocuyo to visit my paternal grandmother and other relatives. I’ve explored places like a river and a reservoir there. I love going to the beach, though it’s been over a year since my last visit. I hope to share my next trip here.

I discovered HIVE through two new friends, @eliigonzalez, @wbrandt, and @eliudgnzlz. They’ve been telling me about this community, its benefits, and opportunities for some time. I’m thrilled to finally start. I hope to create various types of content, such as vlogs, experiences, and book reviews.
