The two places I would love to visit this year.

Good morning everyone, it's another day this week and hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

There are so many places that I have been eager to visit but due to not having someone who will take me there, I couldn't go, but the two favourite places I want to visit are Abeokuta and Ikogusi. For example, I have heard a lot about Abeokuta since when I was very young, but I have not gone there before. I would like to share the little knowledge that I know about Abeokuta, after all I was told about Abeokuta's history.

I was told that Abeokuta was founded by the Egba people in the 1830's. I was told that the Egba people fled away from the Oyo Empire because they refused to pay taxes to the Oyo Empire which caused a fight between the Egba people and the Oyo Empire, so they had to flee. That's how they came across Abeokuta and the people of Egba had a leader called Lisabi who was a warrior and helped them to flee away from the Oyo Empire and lead them to a safe place in Abeokuta.

The second place I said I want to visit is called Ikogusi and it's located in Ekiti state where the hot and cold springs meets together at a junction. My two elder sisters had gone to Ikogusi before, they snapped the pictures and showed them to us. When I got to know that my sisters visited Ikogusi I was heartbroken because I have been looking for someone who would take me or the person I would love to follow to Abeokuta or Ikogusi.

I heard that the people of Ikogusi have a rich cultural heritage, with traditional art forms like weaving, pottery, and carving. I even heard that in Abeokuta, there's a small pot that if you put a coin, in the next three or seven days, the coin will be doubled. Also, I heard that when the Egba people fled, it was not only them, a couple of villagers escaped with them. I just remembered one name out of the villagers that joined them and they were the Ijebu people,

In Abeokuta, there are many rooms there, it was easy for them to hide for the Oyo Empire and I know for sure that if not of Lisabi, the Oyo Empire would have killed the Egba people. I was told that Lisabi who helped them to escape was a spiritual leader but I know for sure that it's because of his power that's why he could save the Egba people from the Oyo people.

Also, the reason why I want to visit these places is because of what I have heard about them and also because I have wanted to visit them before. I would have visited another place but I just want to go to the first two places before going to another place, after Abeokuta and Ikogusi, I would love to visit Idanre Hills in Ondo City.

    Thanks for reading.
