If you listen closely, you can hear this coin whispering, "Murica!" The Chad mint has been making a name for itself with so many unique coin designs, and this is yet another success in their portfolio.
It comes in a pretty sweet box. It's nothing super fancy, as the insert holding the coin simply slides out, but the insert is a velvet-coated plastic molded to the shape of the coin.
Obverse
The obverse has a lot going on, but it looks great! To the far left, you can see a picture of a US soldier carrying a flag, followed by the words "Come and take it" to the right. Underneath that is ".45 caliber" to pay homage to the 1911. There are stars, filigree, and military symbols sprawled across it. The grips are silver gilded with gold and depict the Statue of Liberty and the American Bald Eagle. There's a lot going on, but I think it looks great.
Reverse
The reverse has a giant eagle spread across the majorty of the slide, which is great! Underneath it, they listed the weight, purity, and metal type. The grip on this side is gilded with gold as well and says "2024" and "Tchad" with the country's coat of arms.
Specifications
Purity: .999
Weight: 2 Troy ounces
Mintage: 1000 (Source)
I paid $239.95 for this, which I think isn't bad considering how well they did with the design and it being such low mintage. I can easily see this appreciating substantially in value over the years. There are similar designs but none that can hold a candle to this level of uniqueness and detail.
