Hi to all foodies on this beautiful platform, Hive. Be with me today as I share with you my own way of cooking Filipino-style spaghetti.

On most occasions here in the Philippines, I have observed that aside from the pancit, many of us also loved to eat the spaghetti. It is mostly present on birthdays and during the holiday season, like December. There are lots of ways to prepare it due to taste preferences. In the last few months, my in-law brought us some pasta and sauce. When my college friends paid a visit to our humble abode, I prepared them my delicious pasta dish. So, guys, this is my spaghetti recipe. I hope you'll like it.

Let us prepare the following ingredients and do the mise en place.

    Ingredients:

    700 grams of pasta
    900 grams of spaghetti sauce
    Spices (onions and garlic)
    Eden Cheese
1/2 kg of ground pork meat
    12 pieces of Virginia Hotdog
Vegetable oil (you can also use butter if you'd like)

When I finished gathering all the ingredients, I started doing the procedure.

    Procedure:

    1st step

Prepare all the spices. Mince the onion and the garlic. It would be better to have a small food blender or mincer to achieve the desired outcome.

    2nd step

    1000004232.jpg

Cut the hotdogs into small circles. If you desire to have slanting cuts, well, it depends on your style. For me, I wanted to have small circle cuts to have jollibee-like spaghetti.

    3rd step

    1000004239.jpg

Boil 5 liters of water in a pan or in a pot. In my case, I used a carajay pan to easily monitor the texture of the pasta.

    4th step

    1000004241.jpg

When the water boils, add the pasta to it and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, depending on your desired texture.

    5th step

Drain well. Since the pasta is starchy, we need to prepare the sauce immediately. Some of us foodies would rinse the pasta with cold, running water. I even tried it too. But this time I chose not to rinse it to retain the starch water content.

    6th step

    1000004246.jpg

Sauté the spices in a vegetable oil or in butter.

    7th step

    1000004248.jpg

Add the ground pork meat. Add seasonings to add taste.

    8th step

    1000004249.jpg

    Add the hotdogs.

    9th step

    1000004252.jpg

Pour the 900 grams of Filipino-style spaghetti sauce.

    10 step

    1000004263.jpg

You can add the pasta directly to the sauce or pour the sauce into the pasta. It depends on your likeness.

    11 step

    1000004254.jpg

Add the grated cheese to the top of the spaghetti.

    12 step

    Serve it.

I decided to cook the spaghetti for my friends because they were bringing their kids with them. I know that most of the kids loved spaghetti. When they arrived, my wife served it to them with the other dishes for lunch. They complimented my way of cooking, and their kids savored its delicious taste.

It was a really nice feeling to have been visited by our friends. Especially at times when you are experiencing anxiety. They assured me that they would always be at my back to support whatever plans I had and would have. They truly care for my well-being. I hope, just like this spaghetti, I can prepare a better version of myself for future endeavors. I have very special features for my process. My wife, kids, and very thoughtful friends.

I hope you enjoyed my cooking, foodies. Try to serve it to your family and friends too. That's all for today. Thank you for reading. until my next blog.
