-But they are like us. For in the first place, do you think they have seen of themselves, of each other, anything but the shadows cast by the fire in the part of the cavern in front of them?
-Of course not,
Plato. The Republic

  The year 3024 of the Imperial Era was running. The crew of the spaceship "Titanic" was aware of their inevitable end. A subtle error in the calculation of the wormhole exit, would be responsible for the fatal outcome. At a speed close to the speed of light, the ship would end up crashing onto the planet "Filotes," a rocky, impenetrable rock composed of the hardest metals.

 The logical fear of the arrival of the ferryman turned into an entertaining philosophical gathering. A pleasant conversation in which the myth of Plato's cave was not missing::

  - Let's not lose hope. What if what we see are just shadows and "Filotes" is just another shadow? - said Socrates.

  - Perhaps you are right. That what we call as reality is just an illusion created by our senses.-Glaucon replied.

  - Let's not lose hope then.-continued Socrates.

  - Pass me the - said another crew member.

  When the time came, the universe did not appear very "Platonic". The crew did not encounter a shadow, but "Filotes," the hard and rocky planet.

  May they rest in peace. Achilles, is waiting for them.

UNA HISTORIA DE CIENCIA FICCIÓN

-Pero son como nosotros. Pues en primer lugar, ¿crees que han visto de sí mismos, unos de los otros, otra cosa que las sombras proyectadas por el fuego en la parte de la caverna que tienen frente a sí?
-Claro que no,
Platón. La República

 Corría el año 3024 de la Era Imperial. La tripulación de la nave espacial “Titanic” era consciente de su inevitable final. Un sutil error, en el cálculo de salida del agujero de gusano, sería el culpable del fatal desenlace. A una velocidad cercana a la de la luz, la nave acabaría estrellándose sobre el planeta “Filotes”, una roca pétrea, impenetrable, compuesta de los más duros metales.

 El lógico temor a la llegada del barquero, devino en una entretenida tertulia filosófica. Una amena conversación en la que hubo lugar para el mito de la caverna de Platón:

 - No perdamos la esperanza. ¿Y si lo que vemos son sólo sombras y “Filotes” sólo es una sombra más? - dijo Sócrates

 - Quizás tengas razón. Que lo que nombramos como realidad sea sólo una ilusión creada por nuestros sentidos. - replicó Glaucón.

 - No perdamos la esperanza, pues. - continuó Sócrates.

 - Pásame el licor… - se oyó pedir a otra tripulante.

 Llegado el momento, el universo se mostró poco "Platónico". La tripulación no se encontró con una sombra, sino con “Filotes”, el duro y pétreo planeta.

 Que descansen en paz. Aquiles, los está esperando.
