Hello Everyone!
I want to share my entry for this week's Splinterlands Art contest and this time I chose the Blackmoor Wild Elf card. Also in this art, I tried to venture out of my comfort zone and painted without linearts.
Art Process:
Hopefully, you enjoyed the art process above. I started with a clean sketch and then painted it in grayscale so I could worry about the colors later and just focus on the contrast of lights and shadow and where I should apply them to the character. When I was satisfied with the grayscale, I proceeded to add the colors utilizing the gradient map and the overlay blending mode. I separated each part into different layers to freely adjust each color in the gradient map. Then added a layer on top of all of them to paint more details. To make it look more interesting I added a secondary light behind and a shadow of trees in the background to make it look as if she's walking in the forest at night. Lastly, I painted the effects of magic dust around here glowing staff.
