It has been fourteen years since this group first came together as classmates at a university. We were all enrolled in the same course, pursuing the same major, and aiming for the same degree. Along the way, some of us transferred to other schools, others stayed on the original path, some changed careers entirely, one had to stop due to financial difficulties, and another, too spoiled, chose not to continue but still relied on allowances and tuition.
We came from different backgrounds and upbringings but shared one goal: to become engineers. Unfortunately, the path we envisioned wasn’t meant for everyone. As time went by, those who switched degrees found different paths, while those who completed the program often ended up working in unrelated fields.
With these variations, we found ourselves in different industries, becoming avenues of support for one another when needed. One focused on IT and programming, another pursued art and became a graphic artist, while another took a complete turn and went to medical school. Some ventured into construction, machinery, security, or corporate careers.
Despite branching out into various fields, we remain connected by a shared foundation. Like the trunk of a tree with deep roots, we are firmly grounded in the understanding we built together. We may grow in different directions, but we will always be part of the same strong trunk—solid, unwavering, and unshaken.
Here’s to 14 years of tolerating each other’s quirks and calling out bad behavior. Cheers!
